This was a great stay. Gloria, the host, is very helpful and generous. The apartment is shared, but there was no-one else there when we were, and it is very large, A big, well-equipped kitchen, three availble living areas (all tastefully decorated) and the chance to use the garden and eat on the terrace. Our sleeping area was private and spacious, and again very tastefully managed. We would recommend this to anyone - it's a lovely place to stay. There is parking as well.
Savigliano is not well known, but interesting - make sure you visit the Museum opposite the house (a tour available in English) - it's surprisingly interesting. The town is really well situated for the Italian Alps (we'd highly recommend walking around Pian del Re/Pian della Regina) lovely towns (Mondovi and Saluzzo probably our favourites), excellent medieval castles and monasteries, and the great wine regions of Barbaresco and Barolo to the east, as well as Alba. You can also get into Turin quickly by train. The Tourist Information Office in the museum is very helpful.
