A meeting date was changed after I booked a room in this hotel. I contacted them to ask for a refund and was told that "they couldn't process the refund since I had booked though hotels.com". So I contacted hotels.com and they told me they would get in touch with the Fasthotel. They told me the refund would be at the hotels discretion but felt the hotel would provide the refund since it was 3 weeks till the planned stay. The hotel refused the refund and when I phoned to ask why I was told "sorry I don't understand English". I asked if I could speak to someone who spoke English and I was told "no-one else in the hotel speaks English" (in near perfect English).

Once bitten twice shy is the way a regard this 'hotel' The standard of the room was deplorable. The flooring looked as if it had been cleaned with a dirty mop. The bedding was very poor. The toilet area flooring was dirty and unattractive.

Room Tip: Dont go. You might feel you have a bargain until you get there.

This hotel was amazing. For a budget, 35 euro got us clean towels and bed, shower with lots of hot water, free parking, satellite TV. It was really worth it. If you're looking for a nice place to rest your head, look no further.

I'll try to be balanced here.First saw the hotel mid 2010 enroute Calais to SW France- it looked pretty,a low green clapboard building surrounded by trees, near our route via N154,and close to restaurants (McDs, Buffalo Grill) so we stored it away in the memory bank. Come Summer 2011,we're bringing elderly relatives from Uk to stay with us,one infirm / disabled,so book this hotel for stopover both ways. Made internet bookings for 2 rooms, plus breakfast, for arrival after 6pm, using debit card to confirm bookings. A few weeks before travel, got a phone call from management to tell us that reception closes at 6pm, so rooms would be allocated now,and keys left in open rooms.I asked for ground floor rooms, due to disability, which was complied with.I was impressed.. We first arrived at a public holiday weekened (Pentecostal Sunday). The rooms were as agreed. There were 2 disabled parking spaces right near the rooms- so fgar so good. But the experience went downhill from there- one room had a tiny bathroom/WC like in a caravan, the lights are dismal, but we slept OK as we were tired. Went in for breakfast around 9am on the Sunday.Single member of staff, totally inefficient- no croissants left, had to get frozen ones WHEN REQUESTED, took nearly 30mins, the coffee pots were not refilled, the hot water was not refilled for tea,etc etc.It was a shambles, but we paid and left, making allowances for the public holiday weekend. Next stay was 3 weeks later- again arrived after 6pm a Sunday evening- two rooms, but in each only ONE bath and ONE hand towel ( 4 people). The owners have a dog- it barked for hours on end- other guests had been there 4 nights, said it was that way every evening. One bedhead light in the room had a broken switch, covered over to isolate it, with a piece of SELLOTAPE, invisible in the dark, and dangerous. In the morning, went for breakfast at 0730 (the advertised time on the confirmatory email and the in-room notice) - all locked up.There was a notice on the door of reception, changed by hand to 8 am start time for breakfast!! They had not even bothered to change the in-room notices, never mind the confirmatory emails- pretty important for travellers. It also stated that reception opened at 7:30-- it was still closed at 0755 when we had to leave,as we had booked ferry crossings on the basis of the advertised breakfast time. Left the keys in the key drop, and set off unrefreshed. Got home, found we had been charged on our card for breakfasts never supplied on the Monday, and all requests for refund were ignored. This is a hotel run in a sloppy fashion for the benefit and convenience of the staff, rather than the convenience of their customers, most of whom I would imagine are, like us, stopping over on long journeys. We will never stay again, I suggest any reader considers other hearby establishments.

Room Tip: If needed, disabled rooms with wetroom showers are available, but not apparently advertised as such
