Comfortable, good value and very spacious!

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 Jun 2015
I stayed in the Teneo while attending a conference at Bordeaux University, which is less than 10mins walk away, making it a very convenient choice. The hotel was excellent value: a very large apartment (bedroom, living room, kitchenette and bathroom) that would easily accomodate a couple or family for a longer stay. All was clean, well-equipped and comfortable. Continental breakfast was also good value at 6 euros, and was fresh and plentiful. Note that these apartments have maid service only every 3 days (which I found no problem). The Teneo is ~3.5miles from the old town centre: 15mins by tram, or 1hr walk if the tram is on strike! The bistro opposite the hotel is recommended.

Nice large appartment, huge bathroom, comfortable beddings, modern and well situated for visiting Bordeaux (15mins by tram) and surrondings without being in the "busy part", the tramway is at the foot of the appartments. Groceries within walking distances. Nice helpful staff. Breakfast is simple, just what you need, with nice coffee. We will come back. Excellent restaurant at the bottom of the building is worth a visit!

Room tip: We had a family suite room looking onto the parking.

The hotel is very conveniently situated on the tram B line 5-10 minutes from the city center. The reception is only open at fixed times, so be careful about that. The rooms are very spacious and well kept. I find that it has a very good quality/price ratio.

This simple and straightforward budget hotel was perfectly placed close to the tramline and in easy reach of the university and city centre. Totally no frills, but clean and comfortable. Free wifi. Efficient check-in and check-out. Breakfast was self-serve, and unlimited. All in all a good choice for a budget conscious business traveller on an overnight stop-over. The kitchenette in the room - not as weird as it sounds - would be a boon if I was in Bordeaux over several days.

We booked via Expedia but the instructions were somewhat ambiguous as check in was from 2pm but elsewhere there was a small mention of the Sunday reception hours meaning that checking was 6pm at the earliest. As a result we wasted quite a bit of time waiting around to get checked in.

We stayed in one of the quadruple rooms, this was not very clean, sparsely furnished and a bit tired and tatty.

On the plus side the area is very nice and with the benefit of a tram stop a few yards away, giving quick and convenient access to the city centre.

There is a really nice cafe next to the tram stop which does a great breakfast for less than the buffet at the hotel.

Car park barrier is missing so the car park isn't as secure as it was.

As an overnight stop in our journey this was well suited and we would stop there again.

We (2 adults, 2 kids) arrived late and opposite to other hotels code for keysafe was not provided upfront. Fortunately there was 24*7 service and we got into our appartment 216. Beds were made but the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, bathroom and rooms were absolutely insufficient. Sink in the bathroom did not work, toilet was dirty, dust in room corners, dirty kitchen. Appartment furniture far away from pictures on Expedia and TripAdvisor. We complained to the service but they were not able to change our room at the late night. Fortunately next day the reception was english speaking and they provided us appt 401, which was better furnished and cleaner. Kitchen was still not clean enough, but way better than in 216. As an excuse we were offered a free french breakfast at the last second day. On the positive side the residence is next to tram stop and after 10 minutes you are in the center of Bordeaux. All in all, I would not recommend this residence.

Room tip: Ask for a renovated room facing backyard.
