The Glocknerhof is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in (and over the last 50 years I've stayed in a lot). It is also exceptionally good value.
So where to start? It is in a beautiful mountain location on the side of a valley, with lovely views from the bedrooms across the valley to the mountains on the other side. My room in the main building was large, well equipped and very comfortable with a big balcony on which to sit and take in the view.
I was on full board, and the food each day at all three meals was excellent.
The facilities are extensive, and in particular the hotel is a magnet for radio controlled model flyers as it has its own well equipped airfield which the guests can use at no extra charge. In addition, tuition is available, either using your own models or the instructors.
Finally, the staff generally, and the family who own the hotel in particular, ae quite exceptionally helpful, friendly and generally nice.More
