We visit this restaurant every year and so we did 1 week ago. We went for the 4 course surprise menu at lunch time, which was very high on taste and also the service is very friendly. The menu includes special signature dishes from the chef. We spend 3.5 hours at the restaurant and also enjoyed the nice wines and hospitality. Off season the restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesdays.

This restaurant is really a pearl in South Tirol :-)!

The restaurant is located close to one of the most famous location of South Tyrol (Val Pusteria/Pustertal). The atmosphere resembles the classic Tyrolean "Stube", and also the dishes are mainly prepared with local high quality products. I suggest you to give a look to the website before going there in order to know before the different (quite many) possibilities you have when choosing your own personal menu. Once there, the staff will gladly help you to build your own menu among the many dishes of the restaurant. We built a 6 dishes menu with half fish and half meat, and we were highly satisfied. Very competitive price considering the quality of the products and of the kitchen, about 100€ person considering 1 bottle of wine. A must go place!

To start with, the competition is pretty formidable is this part of the woods. The number of restaurants that provide excellent quality and value is abundant. Now, throw in amazing skiing, charming villages, and the all-important friendliness factor, and a ski vacation in heaven is made.

So, when we say that this was perhaps the highlight of our trip, it really means something.

First impression: beautiful, elegant decor with zero pretension and truly inviting staff. Dirndls and charm!

The meal: amazing! All four of us in our were in culinary dreamland and when you're at 1000+m and having fresh sardines in tagliolini with a dry, fruit-forward white from vineyards maybe only 10 miles away (keep in mind elevation) it doesn't get much better.

Lastly, the overall vibe is an attraction for people who seek out a culinary wow! and Restaurant Schoneck delivers. It deserves its Michelin Star (if not more).
