Carolin took me for an amazing ride and explained me lots of interesting facts about Icelandic horses! I had lots of fun and those horses are for sure in good hands :)

Dalahestar is 2 hours drive from Reyakjavik. The horses were very calm, talented and kind. The sceneries were amazing, we went to the shores of the Atlantic ocean and passed a Viking grave. Carolin was really professional and talented guide. Thank you for the kilometres of pure tölt and callop!

It was a great experience. Carolina took well care of us and both, my friend and I really enjoyed the ride. It was no problem that my friend had no experience in horseback riding at all. She got a calm nice horse with a nice tölt. My horse was for a bit more experienced riders and also really nice by character and in the tölt.
Therefore that the farm is not one of the really big farms, it is a great place to have some fun on a personal level. You are not treaten as one out of hundreds of tourists, on the contrary, we were drinking some hot drinks together after the ride and having some time to ask some questions.

Carolina was a great guide, she was telling nice stories about the area we were riding in and she took well care of my friend who was first really scared to try riding. She gave a detailed introduction in how to safely ride a horse and that helped my friend a lot to relax and to enjoy the ride.

Dalahestar is a lovely farm and a perfect place to meet the icelandic horse and to try its gaits. Just remember if you go there to bring warm clothes and gloves, because riding is way more enjoyable if you are not slightly freezing during the activity. Good riding helmets are provided, such as rain gear, but do not forget about dressing up for being for some hours outside.

We had the best time! Caroline made us feel like family! We had experienced riders and completely non-experienced riders. We had such a good time.

Also, Caroline was extremely responsive via email and was able to arrange our ride with only a few days notice. (Luckily, we we’re not in Iceland during the “busy” time)

After our ride, we spent time talking and it was discovered that we had quite a bit in common and Caroline facilitated taking us into town for a special tour!!!

It was such an incredible feeling to feel like we were more than just customers!!

A definite do again!!
