Stayed for two nights on a Travelzoo deal as part of a week in Cornwall and were impressed.Would have been 5 stars except for the building work going on on the beach and the car park. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent(the scallops were the best I`ve had at dinner) and the service was great. The room was good with a side sea view but a very small bathroom. The bar and terrace were excellent with great sea views over the bay.

So pleased you enjoyed your visit and hope you will visit us again. Our building works are progressing rapidly and we are taking bookings for our lovely new beach lodges, each with its very own direct view straight out to sea!
Best regards

Good points, location fantastic and check in from receptionist good. Dinner was very good Shown around the hotel and was helpful. However, supposed to be staying in a superior garden view room. It was very small, not what I would call a superior room and it overlooked the car park. We were offered alternatives but they were of the same standard so we declined. Service at breakfast and dinner was chaotic and slow. We were still sat in the restaurant waiting for dessert when the staff were setting up for breakfast the next day. I ordered cheese and biscuits which had a supplement, as did a lot of things ( we had dinner included as part of our stay) the cheese arrived but no biscuits, which I had to ask for. At breakfast there was a fly in the milk. Pointing out to the waiter, the response was "it happens" no apology and no replacement of the milk. Had to ask several times as we did for toast. There is extensive building work going off which I think is very intrusive. It was difficult even to get into the car park because of the number of vans. To top the stay off, there was no water for several hours in the evening. I totally appreciate this is out of the hands of the hotel but there was no offer of bottled water and the staff did not seem particularly concerned. At this point we did raise our concerns and we were given a complimentary bottle of wine with dinner. We booked luckily through Secret Escapes. We certainly would not have been happy paying the full amount. The hotel is very overpriced. But what a location. The view of Carbis Bay is lovely.

Dear David,

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and pleased you enjoyed our location. Your dining experience is not at all typical, we generally get very good feedback but welcome all comments, thank you. We are looking into the points you raise and sorry there was a local water problem at the time. Our new lodges will be ready soon We are progressing as rapidly as possible with our building of new luxury lodges and none of our hotel or beach services are affected in any way.
We hope you might return at a later date.
Best regards

Second time visit, first time we had a balcony, great, this time we booked for my special birthday so pushed the boat out and boy was it worth every extra penny. We had one of the best rooms.
On the ground floor [306] own little terrace with large sliding doors. Own little gate. With a great sea view.
Near the door of the room a walking wardrobe, (only thing wrong with room the rail just too high for my wife). Then to the bathroom, possibly the best bathroom in a hotel we have had, on one end a wet room with the best shower ever!!!!.then on to the bath, so deep you could almost learn to swim in it,,,then on to the floor, heated.
The main bedroom large enough for you to enjoy.
On the Saturday night with a special birthday meal for me, after watching mastercheif it was almost the same sort of meal.
Breakfast was wonderful with real sort of orange juice and not watered.
All the staff seemed very helpful and more importantly happy.
On Sunday we had our meal in the beach restaurant. Wonderful.
The worst part of the holiday was the hotel car park which isn't the best in the world.
Trust me if you can sort out your dates book this room well worth every little bit extra.
What a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday.

Drinking tea on the balcony of our room at 7.30 a.m on an April morning helped to drive away the memories of a difficult winter. The sun was shining and the sea was a beautiful turquoise - what's not to like?

Room Tip: A balcony is worth the extra amount.

My husband and I. Have just spent 4days at the Carbis Bay Hotel , it was a throughly enjoyable stay . The food in the restaurant was first class and the staff all very friendly and helpful.although there is building currently being carried out this in no way impacted our stay. The spa was excellent if a tad expensive.
Our accommodation was in one of the apartments which was very clean and had everything required and more .even though it’s a long trip for us we will be sure to return and recommend the hotel to other friends.
