Positive: Hotel Eden Roc is located beautifully at the end of a charming road (going straight uphill) overlooking a wonderful sea- and cliff landscape. The hotel has an indoor pool-area where children are allowed. Cleaning was fine. Negative: Very old-fashioned and voluptios interior and partly worn-out exterior. The 'resort' is rather complex and difficult to navigate in - especially for children. The pool area was open but not managed by any kind of staff. No lifeguard, no supervision, no chance of enjoying a sunshade (as there was only two present at the whole area) no poolbar open...I could go on and on. Keycards kept failing to work why we had to visit the reception several times per day. Breakfast was too crowded to be comfy and seemed to be very basic 'supermarket' quality - not in any way comparable to what we've tried before in Costa Brava. On top the reception staff behaved rather arrogant and in our opinion this hotel is far too expensive and not at all worthy of having 4 stars.

Room tip: If you are planning to go (anyway) make sure to book room with a sea view

I'll start with the staff. The staff seem not to know who the customer is. They are overall rude and to some extent blatantly trying to avoid doing anything resembling customer service.
The rooms are dated with poor single beds, the aircon doesn't work.
The signs to different parts of the hotel are seriously lacking and the signs are needed as the hotel is a labyrinth.
The pool area is nice and the food served it well prepared and tasty.

Really great hotel with very comfortable rooms and superb sea views. Breakfast was reasonable but the Buffet Dinners are Superb! Lots to choose from and very delicious choices. We had a great stay and highly recommend this hotel. There is no ironing facilities in the rooms which is something the hotel should look at. Other than that little thing it is a really good hotel in a good location. Taxi's must be booked in advance.

The food was lovely . Room very good and loved the jacuzzi bath and having a fridge in room was a good . The town was about 10 minutes walk down a very steep foot path so it would not be good for anyone with walking disability.i didn't like charging everything to your room l would have been happier paying for things when you wanted them . There was no shop or bars near x

Hotel was easy to find with our sat nav. Parking is very limited but you can pay for secure parking at €11 per night, we used this. Hotel is larger than it looks from the outside, once you start walking round you realise this. Reception was very efficient and friendly. We booked a suite but think the room was a deluxe family room although they assured us it was a suite. Meals were excellent with something for everyone., Only down side was the size of the bar, it was very small and staffed most of the time by only one barman. However the barman was very attentive to detail which unfortunately led to a long wait at the bar. Prices were very good with a G&T made up of at least 5 measures of gin costing €2.50. The hotel is in desperate need of some TLC and looks very tired in parts.
