Dirty broken spa facilities. Room not much better . Basic hotel with basic facilities . Staff were friendly and helpful. Unless you play golf nothing else really there just one restaurant with a plain menu. Ingliston along the road has a much better menu

Dear SF.

Thankyou for taking the time to provide feedback from your recent stay with us at Gleddoch House. I am sorry you left feeling dissatisfied with your experience.

I am however delighted you found our staff to be friendly and helpful, I will be sure to pass on your kind comments to the wider team.

I must disagree with your comments regarding the spa facilities being dirty and broken, as firstly we have no broken facilities and they are clean.

Our restaurant has very recently changed the menu in our vista restaurant for both lunch and evening meals, I am sorry these were not to your taste.

Kind Regards

I spent a half day at the spa & it was EVERYTHING. My package included the use of all the spa facilities, a 30 minute massage & I upgraded for an afternoon tea. My massage therapist was Heather and she was devine. Besides being a beautiful person, she listened to my needs, my body's needs and it made my massage experience exactly what I needed it to be. The spa facilities were amazing. The outdoor hot tub made it that extra special. Lastly, upgrading to the afternoon tea (just £10) was just WOW. I was dancing in my seat. The whole experience was everything I needed that day and I'm very grateful for that.

Stayed at Gleddoch for our Wedding Anniversary and had a really lovely time.

Stayed in the Clyde suite & it was beautiful and tastefully decorated. Massive spa bath in the room which was an added treat for our special occasion.

Had lunch and dinner at the hotel and both was excellent. We had the fillet steak for dinner and it was cooked to perfection.

Our biggest compliments were to the waiting staff who were just amazing and very attentive. They made our stay extra special so please pass on our sincere thanks to all the guys.

I could not fault this hotel. From checking in with the warm and friendly reception staff to house keeping haven’t found this sort of service in a hotel in such a long time it was very refreshing. Another thing that was very refreshing was their spa. Lovely warm pool and an outside jacuzzi with breathtaking views over to Dumbarton Rock. Perfectly cooked fillet Steak was ordered to the room and piping hot when it arrived washed down with a lovely Malbec. Following morning to set us up for the day we had a Scottish breakfast from their buffet. Great choice on the continental side also. Look forward to returning and would recommend this spectacular hotel without any hesitation.

The hotel claims to be 4 star, and it may have been at one time, but it is not only longer. A 4 star rating is about the whole visitor experience not just having an (overpriced) spa and golf course. The “upgraded” room we stayed in, as the one we had originally booked, was not available when we arrived, was not value for money by a long way. Cracked wash basin, chipped bath, broken and hazardous mirror and hanging cobwebs in the bathroom. Stained carpets and groaning floorboards in our room and the one above us and in many of the corridors made it impossible to walk around quietly. The view from the restaurant was impressive but the dinner menu was very limited. No service charge on our first visit, then 12.5% on the next created unnecessary awkwardness, although the waiting staff were polite and attentive.
Not going back. If you are looking for a 4 star hotel, Gleddoch is not one.

Dear Douglas,

Thankyou for providing feedback from your recent stay with us at Gleddoch House. It was myself who handled your complaint and as far as I was aware the problems you encountered were discussed and the complaint was closed.

Your initial complaint was that you where over charged by booking.com, after I spoke with booking.com they provided documentation to show that you where not overcharged at all.

Please again accept my apologies that there was areas of your room that could be improved, and please be assured we are working on this,

The only point I will disagree with is the stained carpet, the carpet in your room was only fitted just over one month ago.

Kind Regards
George Millar
