I have been travelled since I was 17. Over last 30 years, I always love to travel by my own way to meet different people on the journey. I visited over 100cities and thousands of towns and villages. Met with people from North Poles to south; and from East to West; and from the poorest countries to the richest one! Even my 4years old has already been travelled over 40,000miles! Yesterday, we (my wife & my boy) travelled to this love little town - Pont L'Eveque. We stopped in the tourist information centre to ask for local hotels. Three hotels suggested. This Hotel de France is at the one end of the town and near the tourist information centre. So it is naturally to be the first stop to check the condition and availability! Walk in the hotel, the small front desk is under a staircase. 'Spoken English' sign showed on the reception desk! A lady around late 50' was there behind the reception desk, I don't know whether she is the owner or the manager, she saw us walk in with a small boy; and said to us in French to ask us to wait; before my wife able to ask. And then she disappeared behind a door to deal with someone. Took she around 5mins to come back to us! At the meantime, two persons - a man and a young lady walked in the hotel and stayed behind us. Then the lady returned and asked us in French in hurry!! Although my wife could understand French, she prefers not to make any mistake; so she spoke in English to ask for a double room and with a small bed for our boy!! Simple and clear!! The moment she heard my wife spoke in English, her face changed and then replied in French .......with a very long sentence.... And then I heard that 'not possible'. We both thought that the hotel was full and they don't have room for three! So we responded that 'is the hotel full? it is ok our boy could sleep in-between us in a double room, if you have one double room!' And then she became very angry and aggressive, and then increasing her voice to say 'not possible' repeatedly!! While I tried to understand the situation with my wife, I turned my head to talk to my wife when we were standing in front of her! Within a second, that lady receptionist turned her head to talk the person behind us and asked them how many persons for their room. The person behind us replied 'Three' in French. Of course, my wife understood clearly; and then she said immediately to her that we were asking three persons room as well! She ignored my wife completely! I understood that within few seconds. And I also said 'excuse me' repeatedly in front of the lady!! She completely ignored us; and carried on with those people behind us for their details and asked them whether they want to have breakfast next morning in French!!! What is going on! In any situation, normally, both parties - the receptionist and the walk-in customer (a Frenchman) should stop! But they don't. We were completely ignored! It is very clearly, it is racial behaviour!! Because we don't speak French!! Both receptionist and customer are extremely rude to us, they both know we were in the middle of the conversation for enquiry a three person room. Even the young lady with that French man felt embarrassed and stepped back from the reception area!! We were very angry; but stayed on to try to figure out what it was going on! After she took the French man details and they went out, she then tried to walk away while we are still standing at the reception in front of her! We had to stop her and asked again we wanted three person room; and asked her why you gave a 3-person room away while we were before the other customer! Of course, she pretended she doesn't understand and carried on in French; and she pointed on the room rate of a room for 2 adults and 2 children! Ha! Ha! What do you think?? We were extremely angry and decided immediately to leave! Before we left the hotel, my wife turned back and said to the lady receptionist loud and clear that 'you are racist!' She heard that clearly but didn't say a word and even say a word to apologise the situation!!

She is obviously think we are just passing by. Why bother!!

Dear world clever travellers - why bother to spend a penny to this hotel!!! In fact, at the other end of the town centre, two minutes by car, you only need to pay €30 more for 3 persons; you will get to the other side of your life - heaven! Lovely hotel and lovely treatment. Why bother to go to this 'hotel' from the HELL!!!

If we are in UK, we will definitely report to the police!!
