An alternative to the more usual distillery tour. We went on the more thorough tour and it was well worth it. Good value and interesting.

Visited the Cooperage on a Tuesday in April. First had a delicious lunch in the Visitor Centre cafe. The tour of the Cooperage was only £4 each which is fantastic value. Saw an informative video first with smells pumped into the room. Then our guide took us to watch the Coopers at work and talk us through the process. Our guide, Conor, stayed with us for over an hour and answered all of our questions and was really informative.

As a group of 8 we visited and partook of the Classic Tour - just £4 per person. After an informative opening audiovisual our guide provided lots of information as we viewed almost all stages of the coopering process. They have a good gift shop on site and, although we couldn't stay, the coffee shop looked promising too.

If you're interested in how whisky is made, the cooperage is definitely worth a stop during your time in Speyside. It's neat to watch the coopers at work and learn a bit about the process of putting together and refurbishing the casks.

It also made for a nice break between all the visits to the distilleries and pubs, a little something different.
