On arrival there was a long and slow moving queue. No apology for the wait but we checked in. On arrival to our room we discovered that it was not made up, so we returned to reception, only for the exact same thing to happen with the 2nd room! 3rd time was lucky, the room was nice and we were offered a free drink each in the evening. The food and drinks manager was very kind and friendly, and if not for her this would be a 1 or 2 star review.
Neither the steam room, sauna or the jacuzzi were working which was disappointing and the men's changing room was very unclean. However, the food was very good during the evening and the breakfast too.

Lovely friendly staff.
Upstairs rooms were massive. We had a booking.com free upgrade to a superior room, but the downstairs rooms seemed very small with standard king/double beds.
The staff couldn't be more helpful. Really lovely people.
Clean and covid safe.
Breakfast was OK. Again, staff willing to please and very friendly.
Loved our larger room with views of the surrounding land/woods/fields. The only reason I've gone 4 stars instead of 5 is because I'm sure the 1st two rooms we were offered are not superior. Also we were told 3 of the 4 mornings that we hadn't paid for breakfast when we definitely had it included in the booking.
But as I say, the staff were very accommodating about it all. That's all you can ask for. Nothing was too much trouble.

Area is great for exploring Wiltshire and the Cotswolds. Good places to eat locally.
Pool was nice. But steam room etc not yet open.
Will definitely return.
I thought this place was good value. Thanks guys.

Stayed a few times at the Alexandra and have had an excellent stay. Current climate changes everything, no leisure facilities if you dont book really early and it's just a swim. I booked a superior room but the bed was a double so not sure what happened there. We had an issue but this was dealt with professionally and very quickly cannot fault customer service. We will certainly be back and would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel room and facilities quality were good for the price you pay, however this hotel sorely let us down with food. As Vegans we were given a child size portion for breakfast; I mean one hash brown come on?! The mushrooms were also contaminated with egg, which was absolutely appalling. We made it very clear we were vegan and this would be unacceptable for someone with allergies. (see photo attached). Considering we didn't have meat on our plate they could have given us some more hash browns etc. It was honestly a joke. Dinner wasn't much better either. The pizza looked and tasted like a frozen one from Tesco. Very dissatisfied with this. Considering I travel a lot for work, the covid breakfast routine was ridiculous and overcomplicated for the staff and guests. The staff tried their best but it was an absolute joke, we waited 30 minutes for our tiny plate. I have travelled all over the UK during covid and most hotels are doing a proper breakfast service, without all the faffing about with pre orders etc. It was very clear they were operating on less staff but making them work twice as hard. It wasn't fair as the staff were lovely.

Dear Emily

Thank you for your review, can I apologise that we fell short of your expectations during your stay with us. We are always looking to improve our service and will review our breakfast and dinner offerings. Our breakfast service is designed to comply with Covid-19 protocols and reduce risk during this time, service is slower than normal at this time also.

Kind regards

Chris
