This was a very informative and interesting tour, lasting an hour and ending in a tasting with whisky, gin and vodka. Before you book a tour try and get a half price code as without it it's 12.50 ppl although you do get a £5 voucher to be used against a full size bottle. It seems very popular so I'd recommend to book online beforehand.

We decided we'd pay a visit as we love the Lakes and we're interested in how they actually make the gin! We arrived just after 10am and booked the hour long tour. I'd suggest that you book online, we had to wait until the 12 o'clock tour. Each tour takes an hour and was lead by Esme, she certainly knows her stuff! Esme was clear, knowledgeable and answered questions without any fuss. As we had to wait we had a wander around the site and saw the alpacas who were quietly grazing in a field to the rear of the buildings. We had a coffee in the bistro, which was lovely. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Although we sort of thought that the tour would be about the gin, it wasn't, it was mainly about the whisky but still very interesting and informative. We sampled the blended whisky (the 'proper' stuff isn't available for another year) gin and vodka...all very nice! The shop sells a wide range of gins and vodkas along with other merchandise, some a little expensive but that didn't bother us. The buildings have been sensitively restored and are beautiful, worth a visit

My wife was given a gift voucher for a tour of the distillery as a birthday gift. We travelled over from Newcastle so quite a trip just for an hours tour. The site it’s self has had a great deal of work done to a good standard. The on-site shop is quite expensive for some of the products I.e. £29.99 for an umbrella - ! On to the tour, having been to a few distillery’s in Scotland this is very small. They have just been distilling whiskey for over 3 years and this is the only true spirit they distill from start to finish although you can’t buy any they make yet. The gin & vodka are purchased in spirits then flavoured with their own process then sent out for dilution and bottling. The whiskey takes at least 3 years before they can call it whiskey. The stuff you buy in the shop is a blended one that they mix. The tour was informative but at a cost of £12.50 per person.
You were given tastings of their products, the whiskey in my opinion was the better of the 3 products sampled. Please be aware that if you are visiting and driving, the samples will push you towards the drink drive limit.
In all if you are in the area go and visit, but if you are travelling a long way just for this it is a little disappointing but this is my own personal experience due to the free tours I have been on up in Scotland.

We were in the area for one night only and having scaled Catbells, kayaked on Derwent Water, we decided to take an easy finish to our day at a whisky, Gin and Vodka tasting and tour.
What a good decision...
Having telephoned at 3pm to book the last tour of the day at 5pm, we were guided in by telephone by the very helpful Esme, as we got lost (totally our fault) so we missed the film at the start, but were taken by Esme to catch up with the guide Brian and the two other couples on this interesting tour. Brian certainly knows his subject! We have been on a similar tour in London, but this didn’t matter as this is a different distillery.
The tutored tasting of their new blended whisky, gin and vodka was interesting and informative.
There is of course, a shop to purchase any of the alcohol you have just tasted, plus so many other varieties of gins, liqueurs etc.
This takes a minimum of an hour and is a lovely place to visit.
There is also a bistro but we didn’t try it as we were booked else where.
