Our family of 4 (mom, dad, 9 year old son and 13 year old daughter) had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Maria's apartment. What really made a difference to us was the location - just steps from a beautiful beach that we had almost to ourselves most days. The apartment is also a short drive to the rainforest where we took hikes and Fajardo where we were able to sail out on a catamaran tour for snorkeling and pina coladas. As others have said, the apartment has all that one could need for the beach, cooking, etc. and the local grocery store was also close so we could stock up on provisions. Would definitely come back!
The owner provided very specific direction for our arrival, and everything went like clockwork. We found the apartment to be just as advertised and pictured.
The location is outstanding - ground level, direct exit from your deck to walk
100 yards in one direction to the beach, and 100 yards in the other to the pool.
The beach is large and clean, with long walks available in either direction. The
pool was clean and well maintained, although the supply of lounge chairs was

The unit was very clean, and had all the cooking tools and gadgets you could
ever need. We opened the windows on both ends of the unit, and let the
ceiling fans run. We did not need to run the air conditioning, except in the
bedroom. The gas grill on the deck is a real plus.
It is ten minutes from Loquillo Beach, 20 minutes from the trail heads in
El Yunque, and just over 30 minutes from Old San Juan. For this side of
the island, you can't get much better.
We enjoyed our stay, and recommend this rental.
My husband and I rented this condo and found it to be excellent. The place is located in a condo complex with 24/7 security. The pools and grounds were very clean. The condo was very clean and well equipped. It had everything we needed. It was literally like been home away from home. We used the grill that is provided and enjoyed the two weeks very much. The complex is close to El Yunque National Forest. It is a 30 to 40 minute drive to San Juan. It is about a 15 minute drive to the Light house natural reserve and about a 25-30 minute drive to the Bio-Bay. Very well located. You need a car to go places here as there is no public transportation but it was not a big deal for us. I spoke to the local security guard and he informed me that most of the condos are owned by locals who live in San Juan and come here only during the weekends; thus making the place quite and peaceful. We left on 8/30/14 and saw few people come over for the long holiday weekend but the rest of the time we had the pools to ourselves. I really recommend this to anybody with a family.
We picked Puerto Rico as the place to spend our very first "family" vacation. This was the wife, my 11-year-old step-daughter, and me. My wife and I always choose rentals over hotels as we prefer the homey feel and the ability to put the majority of money towards enjoying the locale rather than a plush room. #2212 at Casa del Mar II was a wonderful place to do this.
The condo is just as described in the listing. All rooms were nicely furnished and homey and the kitchen was well-stocked with cookware, silverware, eating ware, utensils, etc. for pretty much anything most travelers would want to do in a kitchen. The patio was also very well appointed, with a table with chairs for 6, a separate seating area, and a gas grill. What was not mentioned in the listing, and should be, is that this condo is within a beachside "resort." It's not just one condo in one building alongside the beach. Rather, it is set within other buildings, between which are plush lawns with tropical flora. And "our" patio was the most wonderfully decorated and comfortable. The grounds are patrolled 24 hours by security.
The grounds are pleasant and quiet all the time as well--at least as far as people go. We were serenaded most nights by a symphony of coquis and insects. This might be a bother or a wonderful thing to fall asleep to...depends on the person. My only issue was that the master bed was too soft. My wife was ok with it though so...personal thing. Bottom line is that I highly recommend this rental. Maria even called us on Saturday during the passing of Tropical Storm Bertha through Puerto Rico. This was a normal occurrence for islanders--even much desired as they've been dealing with drought conditions for a few months now--but we mainlanders panic when we hear weather reports of approaching storms. Thanks Maria!
