The first flight was ok, nothing special about the flight. Had to pay $70 to check in two bags. The second leg of the trip was on a very small plane with just three rows. When you head downstairs from the gate waiting area it means you are walking to the plane and it's a small plane.

What a great surprise! This was the inaugural flight so passengers where presented goodies to celebrate. We had a 2 oz. serving of Bernadus Pinot noir which was delish! Wanted more!!! Upon arriving in Monterey, we were welcomed by a small crowd along with TV cameras, and cookies! It was fun. Had never had this experience!

We had a mechanical failure in Denver which included a 2 hour delay and rerouted to London. This caused delay arrival and we lost the first day of sight seeing in Ireland. On the return trip we had a mechanical failure in Newark of 2 hours which caused us to miss the connection in Houston to Tucson. We were booked to depart Houston the next morning. United paid for the hotel and gave us a $10.00 meal voucher. They also gave all passengers on the plane to Houston a $100. voucher on another flight.

United crew seemed friendly for an early morning flight. The pilot took us north of the planned route to avoid storms but it didn't delay our arrival. Cabin crew were nice and efficient. Only downside is the same across the entire airline industry, and that's the lack of space, both overhead and in the seat.

When wife and I visited our family in The Woodlands, TX for a few days we chose United to get there. Most airlines nowadays will try to encourage us with so called deals or vouchers or hints and hacks to fly with their airlines. Forbes tells us United Airlines is one of the highest rated and that's good enough for me.

From the Baggage handler who took our luggage at the curb, to the United Flight Crew, and even the Captain and Copilot, we were only met with efficiency, courtesy, and genuine smiles. Our seats were generous and comfortable but again, the service from the United personnel was fantastic.

If you are looking for an airline who is uncomplicated, relaxed, and offers you unparalleled service, go to United Airlines. You'll be glad you did.
