“Just ok”
Review of United Airlines

Never comfortable but such is the experience. Seats in business don’t lean back enough to sleep. The extra leg room helps. Food is awful, board with your own. Loved the ice cream but the main dish inedible. Staff nice. Bathroom needs attention on international flights. Piloted got us there safe so that’s important!

We missed our connecting flight and our luggage was on its way to Miami without us. United service desk staff were extremely helpful and got us on a flight to West Palm Beach as there were no more flights that night to Miami. We then ubered to Miami arriving there at 1.30 a.m. United had phoned ahead and someone was waiting there with our luggage even though the rest of the airport seemed closed. Without their great assistance we may have missed our next early morning connection. thank you United.

The Polaris new business lounge which opened recently changes the UA business experience at IAH. No longer the cramped lounge where it was impossible to find a seat or eat anything decent. The new Polaris lounge is airy, well decorated, with a nice view over the runway. Food offered is much better than before. Nice bar but no coffe with direct access- you need to order it at the bar- on the plus side they have very nice expresso coffees. Bathrooms are finally big enough to change in. Still no magazines which is below standards.
Boarding is readonably close to the lounge.
Diner on board is good, except for the breakfast which features an omelet with horrible quality sausage and some unexplained sauce. Bread goes hard and cold in 5 secs. Yogurt is overly sweet.
Overall finally a business standard experience at the lounge

The UA lounge (and flights) depart from T2-B terminal so one of those long Heathrow walks. The lounge is right by the gate on the plus side. It is spacious, well decorated, has plenty of nice drinks options, magazines and buffet food as well as an alcoholic bar menu. The open large bay view onto the runway is nice.
Boarding is well organized.
The business toiletries kit can definitely improve. Plenty of plastic. The hard metal case is not really re-usable as a bag (unlike competitors) and essentially has to be thrown away (waste). The content is sparse and basic quality, except for the socks and hand cream.
Food served on board is good with a lot of salad and veggies and good balance. The variety of snack choice could be improved or with a rotation. There are macarons, crisps, apples and cheese.
The in-flight staff staff is helpful. The on-board entertainment system is akward to navigate, It resets to the menu starting at A after any selection instead of going back to where you were browsing. Overall a good experience and usually 1/3 to half cheaper than British Airways on this leg. Definitely worth choosing UA over BA for this leg.

For some reason my luggage wasn't to heavy going to Tampa but was 20 lbs overweight coming back and it had less in it on the way home. They wanted to charge me 235.00 overweight charges. I will never fly united again.
