Review of Swiss International Air Lines [SWISS]

Flying from LA to Zurich on time. We sat towards the back. Meal had 2 options: chicken & cheese pasta. They ran out of chicken. Those who sat towards the end were served last had to accept cheese pasta or be starved.

Coming back, flight was canceled. My sister who returned 3 days prior, her flight was delayed 2 hours. The weather was fine in mid September.

They cancelled the flight, and lied about the reason to try and avoid their legal obligation to pay compensation. Forced to buy own flight at great expense to get home. Still waiting 3 months later to have this reimbursed. Dishonest frauds. Avoid this airline at all costs, their customer service is abysmal

I live in Switzerland and take approx 50 outbound flights a year. I try to avoid Swiss -that in the past was an excellent airline- as much as I can. 9 out of 10 flights with Swiss I took this year are delayed. Also, hand luggage is often an issue and they try everything possible at boarding to have you check i lt in. Flying with Swiss, if you have business meetings, is extremely stressful. I am taking now much more often than in the past Air France or KLM and even British Airways if possible as they have rarely delays and service is excellent.

We had a huge problem with our flights and Swiss Air not only would not help us, they would put us on hold for 40 minutes and hang up!
This happened 3 times in a single night!
They overbooked, pushed me to the next day, cancell my flight the next day, and would not help me!
What a nightmare I could cry.

As my review title indicates, our experience was a disaster from moment one: from being told our July 19 flight LX354 was delayed, only to show up at the gate to be told it was canceled; to then receiving an email saying we'd be rebooked automatically on Swiss, only to never have that happen and my having to stand in line for hours to then get rebooked for TWO days later on a different airline; to now struggling for over a month to get a simple form from Swiss Air explaining WHY my flight was cancelled so I can apply for expenses reimbursement from my credit card company. I've spoken with at least 4 customer services reps and sent multiple emails in the mean, and have yet to receive a simple form.

Not to mention our first flight from LHR to GVA featured some of the most abhorrent food my family has ever experienced on a flight. Our son's "kids meal" was a plate of corn with pale, flaccid slices of "meat" piled on top. Our adult meal featured some inedible form of fish slop. All we could do was laugh and push it aside.

I assumed given how on top of things and lovely Switzerland itself is, the airline would be the same. Lesson learned. Never again.
