Both connections flight delayed & missed the next flight. No help from unfriendly stuff. The money you pay for this flight is waisted they are so unorganized!
This was my first time booking with Swiss Air and I was very disappointed with the experience. Both flights were cancelled, due to technical problems. I received an email when I arrived at Heathrow airport, informing me that I have been booked onto an alternative flight to Dubai where I live, with Turkish airlines, which will go via Dubai. This change would mean that I would arrive in Dubai 3 hours later, which was inconvenient, however I was okay with this as I understand these things happen sometimes. However, when I went to check-in for the Turkish airlines flight, I was informed that I am in fact on a standby ticket, as the flight is full, which meant that I would have to wait until check-in is over to see if there is space available on the flight - this meant that in total I was waiting for 5 hours before I could check-in, with the stress of not knowing if I would actually get on the plane. I went to the Swiss Air service desk at Heathrow for help, but the only option they gave me was to book me on a different flight from terminal 5, but it would mean going on 2 different airlines to Dubai which is risky when it comes to delays etc, and would also mean I would have to get a train from terminal 2 to terminal 5, which I would then have to pay for and did not have much time for either, so this was not a good option. I then communicated with an agent online via the Swiss Air live chat, and they said the only other thing they could do was book me onto another flight the following day. So I was left with no choice but to wait and hope for the best. Turkish Air informed me that there was nothing more they can do, they have a full flight - that Swiss air should not have booked me onto this flight without checking if there was space. Fortunately after waiting for 5 hours I did get a space, but I am sure you can imagine it was a very upsetting and stressful experience. If a flight is cancelled, this should not be there rebooking experience - 5 hours of waiting, not able to check in, not sure if when the time comes, there will even be a space available. I could not even eat anything for those 5 hours because I was going between turkish air and swiss air service desk to see what could be done. The rebooking process should be more thorough for customers in future, this was an awful experience. At this point, I do not feel I would like to book with Swiss air in future if this is the customer service.
I have completed a feedback form with a complaint on the website on the 7th August, and have still had no feedback. I followed up on the 9th August via the live chat and the only response I got was that I need to wait for feedback following the form I completed. Whether in person or on live chat, it seems throughout this whole process, the customer service has been extremely unhelpful.
I had two flights initially booked: LX317 and LX242
I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with this airline. In January 2024, I purchased tickets for a trip scheduled for July 2024 directly on their official website. To my great surprise, in May 2024, the same tickets were being offered at half the price! Despite numerous attempts and several emails sent to customer service to obtain an explanation, I never received any response from them.
This situation is simply unacceptable and gives the impression of fraudulent business practices. Moreover, this airline dares to use the word "Swiss" as a mark of quality, while their service is deplorable, and there is no after-sales service whatsoever.
I strongly advise against traveling with this airline, which not only shows a lack of respect for its customers but also seems to completely disregard transparency and customer satisfaction. Avoid at all costs!
Lounge experiences at JFK and Zurich was below par. Flight from Zurich to Mumbai had option for vegetarian main course but had only 3 no’s of meal and thus had no choice. Can’t think of ever travelling again on Swiss air.
