WARNING! ‼️ 5 days ago booked a flight from Perth to Phuket for 2 adults and 2 children in June. Due to unforeseen circumstances had to change the flights by 2 days earlier from the original booking. Jetstar Australia charged $1,376.64 to change this nearly costing more than the flights! Please be aware of this if flying to Phuket and need to make changes as this airline will overcharge you plus have customer service representatives who speak over top of you when talking.
Think twice before you book with them. I travel a lot around the World and I've never experience such a strict baggage policy! If you think you can go away with online check in and continue with your bags 'you are wrong' ! You can have two carry on bags but total weight (of both of them !) must be 7 kg max ! They weight your bags next to your boarding gates and give you orange stickers to confirm you've been checked so it is impossible to avoid it. If you exceed 7kg, $75 will be charged so if you think you will save by booking with them, compare the prices and book with maybe a bit more expensive Virgin Australia (which I can recommend) but at least you will not be surprised with additional costs. Also on board staff wasn't pleasant prompting to put my crossbag (which I wore) or my jacket which was on a hanger to put on under the seat in front of you which doesn't make sense.
The worst airline when it comes to customer service.
We had a trip booked to Europe for a white Christmas, we were set to leave Townsville at 8pm and arrive in Sydney at 12pm, and was set to leave at 6am the next day to Dubai. the flight that was coming in, came in late due to some safety issues when leaving Sydney. When we were set to take off, these same safety issues happened resulting in the flight being UNABLE to be flown to Sydney that night meaning we would miss our flight to Dubai, there was nothing in which they could do, we then moved our flights for Dubai to 10:30pm, as we were assured that there would be a recovery flight. the recovery flight was then put into place to be at 2pm, in which, yet again the safety issue was still occurring, they then told us that they would REMOVE THE SAFETY MODULE that is throwing the error which would take a few hours, resulting in us again having to move our flight to be at 6:30am the next day. and then when we requested some compensation (we were now out of pocket an EXTRA 10k due to all the changes of the next flight) we were told sorry its a safety issue so this is out of their control. WHAT A JOKE, Unfortunately JetStar is one of the only airlines that fly's direct to Melbourne, however if i never had to go with this airline again I WOULDNT.
First off the flight was delayed 6 hours, then when I arrive they tell me that my bag is on another flight and that they are going to deliver it between 6 and 10 am, then don’t deliver at all or pick the phone up!
