Review of Jetstar Airways - Australia & New Zealand

I flew Jetstar JQ854 for my holiday at Hamilton Island. I chose this flight as it is the most direct flight from Melbourne to Hamilton Island. Unfortunately, Qantas does not offer direct flights from MEL to HTI, otherwise, I would have flown with you guys and probably avoided this terrible experience.

After a great airport experience, we eventually began boarding on time. And here, the day's flight takes a dramatic turn. Once I got onboard the Airbus A320, the cabin crew started behaving rather oddly. They started questioning me whether I actually purchased this ticket. I showed them over and over again my booking and they kept searching in their ridiculous iPads for some sign so they could kick me off the plane. I don't know if this was due to race or something.

After we were in the air, the crew began the meal service, or should I say "Everything is going to run out Meal Service". The crew literally began the service 10 minutes after takeoff and still managed to arrive at Row 20 ONE HOUR prior to landing. That is an entire 1 HOUR AND 50 MINUTES of slow, incompetent crew.

Once they FINALLY got to my row, I requested the Chicken Wrap. Response: "No, there is none left."
Then I had a look at the menu. Response: "Hurry up, I have other passengers to serve." (less than 20 seconds)
I requested the beef pie. Response: "None left"
I requested the sandwich. Response: "Stop ordering these items. I've already told you we only have (...)" (didn't actually inform me at all)
I requested the Beef Pho. Response: "Ok that would be $8" (instantly leaves me)
Finally, after my countless requests and being constantly rejected VERY RUDELY.

After 20 minutes, of waiting, I asked the crew whether my meal was ready. They said they would check. 5 minutes later, "Sorry we forgot about your meal." WOW! GREAT SERVICE! IT IS LITERALLY YOUR JOB TO SERVE PASSENGERS KINDLY AND *NOT* FORGET ABOUT THEIR MEALS!
This was a disgraceful experience, and I highly recommend you to fly with another airline. AVOID JETSTAR AIRWAYS AT ALL COSTS

Thieves Changed our flight schedule twice and now we are not able to fly on the day and time it was changed to. When asked for a refund they told us because the flight was for holiday purposes we could not get a refund. All that money for flights we can no longer take because of their rescheduling and they get to keep it? Isnt that illegal? Ive had to pay for a service they couldnt provide. Beware of Jetstar, definitely wont travel with them in the future. Thieves.

We decided to fly with Jetstar to Bali. Going into it, we weren’t sure what to expect. It was a budget airline and I wasn’t sure how the experience would be. I brought an iPad and chilled and watched stuff on the flight. The seats were not bad for a budget airline. They had decent padding, and it wasn’t too bad. After 3h my back was slightly sore, but it wasn’t terrible. The plane was clean and relatively modern, and the staff were nice and professional. The only downside: you had to pay for everything, including water. I reckon compared to other budget airlines like AirAsia, Batik air and other ones, it compares pretty good. I would recommend it as a good budget airline, though it is no where near the standard of a non-budget airline like Qantas.

Complaint to Jetstar

I am absolutely disgusted by this company. First we arrive at this airport and hour before our flight, we see a massive queue of people for baggage drop. This is the first major problem, it is understaffed and the staff have poor management issues. We finally get to the front, with 5 minutes until we board. The lady that helped us for our baggage check in was absolutely useless and I’m quite shocked by her behaviour. When we get to her desk, she is obviously under qualified
Lack of duty of care and inefficient, when she goes off about 3 different times for many minutes ask in her colleagues for help, not only is this company understaffed and has lack of duty of care, they also have very little training and can’t help their customers. This lady starts demanding ID for the 11 year old, and goes off again to ask her colleagues. About 5 more minutes later she comes back “oh, your flights gate is closed”. We weren’t the only one in this situation, many, many people were missing their flight due to the lack of energy from the companies staff. Even the person next to us had to get their flight re booked because they missed it. The “gate closing” line was about as long as the normal one. This was just for bag drop. Our flight was rescheduled to 8 hours later. What an absolute nuisance, I will be never flying with Jetstar again, and I hope you don’t either.

Very bad customer service over the phone, not willing to cooperate and help, very rude and unprofessional. Not even ready to issue a voucher when you have to cancel for some reason.
