Review of Ryanair

Reviewed 5 November 2017 via mobile

Recently returned from a trip from Dublin to Bristol I cannot fault Ryanair at all, every member of staff where friendly and professional at all times, we arrived in Bristol 15 minutes ahead of schedule and on our way back we arrived 7 minutes ahead. Credit where credit is due! Will gladly be flying with Ryanair again in the near future

Never will we use these again. Constantly worried about the flight being cancelled. Also saw that our flight number was one of those cancelled. So had to ring customer services to confirm flight was still going. Then discovered the call cost me over £6.00.
Then at the airport there was not enough time between gate announcement and gate closing. Only half an hour of which it took 20mins to walk. Then once on board the aircraft my wife had to wipe chocolate off the seat before sitting down. And to cap it all once we were airborne we asked when will the lights go off for the toilet
And the reply we got was, you may have to sit there all of the flight if the pilot keeps the lights on. So rude.
Ryan air you can keep airline .

This review is about the flight out and also the return flight back to Bristol. This is the first time I've flown with Ryanair. However I have flown with many other budget airlines as well. In most respects Ryanair provided a similar kind of service to the others - certainly not noticeably worse. However in two respects they did leave a bit to be desired. Both flights - there and back were delayed. What made it worse was the way that on the return flight, we were all kept standing waiting for 20 minutes at the gate to board the bus to the plane. Then we were kept on a stiflingly airless bus for 15 minutes by the side of the plane while the cabin crew took their leisurely time to get on board. Not necessary to treat us like that.

The second thing which made this experience worse than I've had on other budget airlines was the hard sell fro the cabin crew on the plane. Twice they tried to sell me over priced food and drink. Then we had the scratchcards. Then we had the perfumes and watches. Then once more with the food and drinks. It was overkill, and not necessary.

It's a shame, because other than that these were perfectly acceptable economy flights - no better but no worse than any of their competitors.

At 6am in the morning in a cold airport, one would expect to be welcomed at a check in desk. However, Ryanair had precisely 1 person supervising 10 DIY check in machines. Unexpected item in the baggage area? You bet- we were 2kg over our measly 15kg allowance. This triggered a 20 pound charge, which equates to exactly 1 pound per 100g. After the solitary figure realised cattle, sorry, customers, were coming, he wandered off to the desk 20m away.
So after no information, we were called to line up for our plane at the time it was due to depart. Needles to say, there was a delay. So after this queue, we got into the next queue to be let on the plane. When we got on, we were greeted by staff who said not a word nor a smile. Demotivated much?
Once we sat down, it was time to watch the elbows as every 2 seconds staff were running up and down to sell stuff. Not their fault, of course, but service with a smile should come as standard. No such luck there.
The way back was just as bad- one person on the check in desk at 4am- at least human this time! But one stressed lady and hundreds of passengers is a recipe for disaster and who would bear the brunt? Not Mr Leary obviously, but the poor lady.
This airline has one class- lower. Never ever again.

Ryanair deprived us our first family trip with our newborn. An employ from the chat service unfortunately gave me wrong directions on the type of documents I needed for our newborn so we all lost our trip tha we were longing for . The company, even if they take responsibility for that mistake will not accept to refund me.
Ryanair is not a trusted flying company.
