“Too many cancellations, poor customer service”

If your flight is not cancelled ( unlikely ) and you make it on the plane, the cabin staff are great, the plane is clean and it can be a pleasant flight.

However - you need to be prepared for flight cancellations - and a chronic inability to get hold of anyone at the airline to help you rebook your flight.

On a recent trip to Kilimanjaro, we had 4 flights booked with Kenya Airways.

1 month before the trip the flight from New York to cancelled and we had to push our entire trip back one day ( fortunately our tour operator was very flexible and helpful )

2 weeks before our trip the flight from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro was cancelled - it took many long calls ( hours to get a representative ) but eventually we were able to get booked onto a different regional airline - but with a 9 hour layover.

7pm on the day before of our return flight the flight from Kilimanjaro was cancelled. Once again it took hours to get a representative of the airline.

In summary - 3 out of 4 flights were cancelled, and 2 out of 8 of our bags went missing.

Is this really the kind of experience you want ?

(2 friends met me out there and flew Ethiopian Airlines with no trouble - I know what I will do next time )

Kenyan Airlines is one of the worst airlines we've ever flown with. We started our journey on February 9th with our 10-year-old daughter and are expected to arrive in Lagos by February 11th, despite being delayed by nearly 10 hours in Nairobi.They did not offer lodging or sufficient information, and we had to wait for the food coupon. This is not exclusive to our filght (mumbai, nariobi, and lagos), as we have observed similar issues among other filghts. What am I hearing?This occurs when passengers do not raise inquiries, allowing ground staff to take advantage of the situation. We are quite dissatisfied, and we encourage you not to fly with Kenyan Airlines. Please boycott this airline, or you and your family will suffer greatly.
This is climax, we have checked in 6 baggage and have received only 5 and 1 is still missing, we are tried of this services, we despise most of this airline, we never and ever pick this airline, and we publicize this in all social media and friends groups.

From the check in point terminal 1D there is just confusion we were asked to wait for 40minutes i don't know for what reason and again queued again for the same one receptionist is checking the travel documents you go to another queue the other one is doing the same.Upon reaching the gate we were mixed up with travellers going to Mombasa we make separate queues according to final destination the ladies directing passengers are not at par with communication everybody is doing what they think is right.Upon boarding the flight the cabin crew were courteous and they delivered a seamless service, the food was okay but what caught me off guard is the use of plastic cutlery i mean a whole international airport that was way below my expectations

Following a fantastic safari holiday in Kenya, we were unfortunately booked on this airline for our return journey. We were delayed in Mombasa which resulted in us missing our connecting flight. They did re-book us but this resulted in us having a wait of 18 hours in Dubai. No apology received, no offer for overnight accommodation, food or drink vouchers. On arrival to Manchester, no luggage! It was still in Dubai, this was delivered 2 days later. I have complained to the airline direct but have not received any compensation and they do not seem particularly bothered about the inconvenience, stress and upset caused. We were also delayed on our outbound journey and were quickly refunded £520 each by Emirates. I know who i will fly with in future and which i will avoid. A very disappointing end to a holiday of a lifetime.

This airline has been having issues with their checkin for years but they still haven't fixed the bag. I think this is very lazy and disrespectful to their clients. The site also doesn't keep state, you have to give them your information again and again.
