I’ve been a Finnair gold member for years. Considering the decline in quality over the years I’ve been flying, I’ve been thinking of never using Finnair again even though I’m Finnish and I offer travel this distance.

Bag is always either delayed by days or damaged; this is also the reason I finally decided to write this review. My bag was heavily damaged after my flight on 30. 12. Zipper can’t be closed anymore after my bag was security checked for what ever reason. So the zipper is effectively broken and I have to get an other Samsonite Hardcover Bag worth hundreds of euros.

Declining quality can also be seen during travel. My table in business class was dirty and let’s not even start talking about the toilet.

The only good thing remaining is the excellent stewardess service.

Even costumer service didn’t Funktion when I tried to complain about the bag being broken.

If you can, fly something else which is cheaper at least then it isn’t this bad when bag gets damaged or anything else happens. This is coming from a Finnair costumer since 10 years with over 50 flights and gold membership.

From check-in through to touchdown I had a great flight. The A350 was spacious and quiet. In flight entertainment and service was good. An enjoyable flight.

Worst business class seat on the route from Singapore to Helsinki, even when compared to other European carriers. For starters seat cannot recline. so to watch movies you have to prop up with the 2 small pillows. The bed does allow full recline but overall foot space was very narrow as I am 1.74 m so either you sleep on the back with both legs extended and don’t move for the entire duration of sleep or only on one side . On the side the bed only allows a person to sleep on the left or on the right comfortably, depending on seat configuration, it was not possible to switch from flat to the side without the feet bumping all the sides or the knee hitting the tv screen . The food was served all in a single tray nothing like what I had seen on reviews prior to my travel. Service was generally poor as well. When we travelled from Tromso to Helsinki our flight was delayed by 3 hours which did not help matters as well.

I have traveled the world and never experienced such a cheap airline. For a national carrier they should be ashamed. Here’s why
A) they charged me to use my Amex card. I understand for small retailers the extra service fee is a lot, not for a national airline
B) I wanted to change my flight and the chat function could not find my booking reference despite entering it many times. To speak with customer service they were going to charge me 1.70/min including wait time
C) only free drink option on board is water & blueberry juice. Give me a break: you can offer coffee or tea.
D) I changed my ticket. The price to change showed $143. But the checkout price was $168. No explanation why. And no way to find out since you have to pay to speak to customer service.

To the best of my knowledge this isn’t a discount airline. So don’t treat your passengers as though they are lower class citizens. Who charges for customer service? Absurd!
Not to mention the flight attendants threw my coat on my lap when I said I didn’t want to getting wet from a dripping wet suitcase. Disgusting behaviour

Didn’t seat me with my travel companion by default, flight took off more than an hour late, and no apology provided. Substandard in every way that counts.
