This was my email to them on the 30th of July, i received an email back on the 11th of september after a month and a half saying " I am sorry to hear that you did not receive our complimentary chauffeur service. After reviewing the situation, I wish to clarify that our complimentary chauffeur service does not include Business Class Value fares"
Dear Etihad Airways,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the level of service and treatment I experienced during my recent journey with your airline.
As a long-standing Etihad Business Class customer, I have come to expect a certain standard of service and amenities, one of which has been the complimentary chauffeur service from Abu Dhabi to Dubai. This has been a consistent and much-appreciated perk that I have enjoyed on numerous occasions when traveling with your airline.
However, upon my arrival at Abu Dhabi airport on flight EY654 from Cairo on July 30, 2024, I was informed at the front desk that I was not eligible for the complimentary chauffeur service, despite having booked a Business Class ticket. This was the first time I had encountered such an issue.
Furthermore, I was informed that this restriction applied to Business Class Value fares, which I had booked using my Etihad Guest miles. There was no indication on your website or during the booking process that this service was not available for these particular fares.
Perplexed by this sudden change, I sought to speak with the person in charge to understand the situation better. Unfortunately, the experience only continued to deteriorate from there. I was shuffled between three different representatives, each of whom displayed a severe lack of courtesy and customer service. One individual, Sannan Tariq from the ground operations team, was particularly challenging and even somewhat intimidating in his approach.
When I requested Sannan Tariq's name to include in my complaint, he obligingly wrote it down for me, displaying a complete disregard for the gravity of the situation and the impact it has had on me as a long-standing and loyal Etihad customer.
I am deeply surprised and disappointed by the attitude and behavior of your staff, which is in stark contrast to the exceptional service I have come to expect from Etihad Airways. This experience has left me stranded at the airport, with no means to return to Dubai, as I had been relying entirely on the complimentary chauffeur service that I had always received in the past.
I would like to know how Etihad Airways intends to address this matter and the actions that will be taken to rectify the situation. As a valued customer who has been loyal to your airline for years, I deserve a prompt and satisfactory resolution to this issue.
