I recently flew from Abu Dhabi to Zurich (one way ticket) and regularly fly with Etihad so I am a platinum guest member. I had originally booked an economy ticket and prior to my flight I paid in cash (no miles) for an upgraded business class ticket. I upgraded the full one way ticket that was purchased.

At check in I was surprised and disappointed to be confronted with additional fees for baggage. As I did not originally purchase a business ticket, rather I paid for an upgrade, I was told I was not eligible to the baggage allowance of a business class guest. Therefore I had to pay a thousand additional dirhams for additional luggage. Astounding. Etihad used to be an outstanding airline, from the courtesy shown by employees, to the service onboard and now it does not think about the comfort of their guest. When boarding the plane, via a bus and staircase, as well as being 30weeks pregnant and traveling alone, no Etihad member offered to help me. Instead another passenger very kindly helped stow my hand luggage on board.

After contacting Etihad Guest, via email and many social network channels, regarding paying the additional fee for baggage, I was again informed, as it was an upgraded tickets, you are not entitled to the business class luggage allowance which I find baffling. Heads up people, you no longer get the perks of a business class ticket if you upgrade.

Worst airline ever, they have delayed the flight for over an hour. Extremely unorganized, I would recommend going with a different airline.

I had a booking with Etihad from Melbourne to Athens and a connecting flight from Athens to Thessaloniki with Sky Express.
Etihad at Mebourne airport had a problem getting my checked in luggage straight to Thessaloniki, but assured me that an arrangement was in place with Sky Express to that effect and I wold not have a problem with my return flight. I am now informed by both airlines that no such arrangement exists and luggage needs to be collected and rechecked.
Obviously I was lied to.
Have been flying this trip with other airlines for past 11 years, never had this problem before.

Inflight service was horrible. Flight attendant did not attend the call & for a glass of water it required 20-30 minutes. The flight attendant & incharge were very arrogant and rude.

Etihad is the worst in terms of rebooking. I had to rebook one way of my flight and they are charging me $2000 as price difference, just for one way, instead of just $400 or $500. They say the class we booked is not available, but I can see it is clearly available in the website. I could see the flight ticket as $1000 in the website but they wont let me book that ticket in stead they are forcing me to buy $2500
