I never write reviews.
But Egyptair is absolutely the worst airline I have ever encountered.
Their customer service is NONEXISTENT, the staff have no idea what they're doing.
Their call center is terrible and nothing about this airline is good.

They are unable to look up the status of a flight with just the flight number. They need your specific booking reference to look it up. I asked if the MS085 is operating on a specific date (that was only 5 days out from the date that I asked).

They didnt know how to answer. They asked for my booking reference. What happens if I didn't make a booking?? Then are they unable to provide an answer?

I had made one booking and then received an email saying that particular flight got cancelled and that I was put on another one. I never confirmed that I would go on the later flight. On their website I saw that the original flight was still available so I purchased that flight.

I then called them and asked if this particular flight was available, and they gave me two different answers depending on the booking reference number I gave them.
??????????? I asked them to listen to what they're saying and if it makes any sense. Literally about the same flight you say it's operating and then say its cancelled when provided another reference number. When the customer rep herself didnt know she said she'll transfer me to another person. I DID THIS FIVE TIMES. I repeated the same thing over and over and over and OVER AGAIN. I asked for their manager and the sixth person said to tell him and that he will be able to help me. I told him the situation and he told me sorry call back in an hour, management will be here. I asked him to give me the manager's direct line he said he doesn't have it and to call the call center. ARE YOU KIDDING ME EGYPTAIR??????

And your email service isn't any better. No follow ups, noone knows what theyre doing. I can go on and on and on about this airline but honestly everyone who's reading this, save your money, save your time and get on another flight.

If i could give it a negative rating i really would. Absolutely terrible service.

On route to Athens for a 3 day destination wedding, I arrived to find that my luggage had not! It took 3 days for Egyptair to find my luggage which had somehow gotten lost in Ireland! I had to waste the first 3 days of my holiday searching for stores which would carry clothing and items I required and stress over all the events which I had no clothing to wear at. I send through my invoices as requested, itemized in great details, only essentials, and was told that only $220 will be refunded! As per their own website, they are obligated to compensate up to $1800 dollars, but the insurance company believes that $220 is sufficient to compensate the massive ordeal I had to endure without ANY ITEMS for 3 days!

EGYPTAIR lost my luggage three months ago, and they still haven’t resolved the issue. Despite providing all the necessary information, they refuse to respond to my emails. This level of disregard is unacceptable and extremely frustrating.

I was expecting an absolutely awful experience as I heard that Egyptair are racist. The service on the flight to Egypt was excellent but coming back less so. All in, no racist experiences here. The business class lounge at Cairo was woeful. The furniture in business class is very tired with bare wires on show!

Pros:
- budget flight
- inflight food surpassed expectations (except juice which was artificial and sweet)
- baggage arrived without major problems
- most service staff were nice
- baggage allowance

Cons:
- Airline moved the time of 2 of our flights without informing us (just noticed when checking in). Some of our travelling party wasn't moved with us, when calling up customer service to try and move everyone together on the same flight, they said this wasn't possible without paying a fee of over £500
- every flight (4) was delayed by 20-150mins
- vegetarian meal requests were forgotten on 2/4 of our flights
- arbitrary and bureaucratic rules and fees inconsistently applied to passengers e.g. forced us to pay to shrink wrap one of our bags (only on one journey) and made some (but not all) of our party pay to print out an 'ELECTRONIC' transit visa for Kenya.
- Poor organisation
- Inflight entertainment can't deactivate Arabic subtitles
