No pilots. Then no gas.

Then the fuel truck was "old and slow."

An hour later, we get wheels up with the usual sampling of snarky burnouts posing as flight attendants and a pair of teenagers in the cockpit.

Land in Charlotte. Nowhere to park the plane.

Sit on tarmac for 40 mins watching our connections fall like dominoes.

Sprint a mile to next gate.

The usual rude gate agents greet us with that good ol' American Airlines air of indifference.

Finally board in this miniature plane with three mins to spare. Have to surrender bags because it's American and they dont like people with luggage.

Smells like an old balogna hoagie and is hotter than two rats going at it in a wool sock in here.

Another gaggle of burned out, clinically depressed, frazzled flight attendants who are doing the carnival barker bit selling a high-interest credit card. "SEVENTY THOUSAND MILES!!!"

Lovely.

And the lady in 4A is snoring like a rhino with sinusitis. Double-lovely.

TL;DR: You know, just another trip ruined with incredible efficiency by American Airlines.

I wish I could give less than 1 star review. The first of 2 flights they were over 30 minutes late for take off and when we landed for our layover in Charlotte which there wasn’t a boarding gate for us so it took over 1 hour on the tarmac just waiting to be let off.

My daughter and I booked a flight on American Airlines that was supposed to leave about 9 pm and get to Indiana right before midnight the same day. I checked into the flight before we got there and had the boarding passes on my phone. When I get to the counter, the agent told me the flight was canceled and we were rebooked for 6 am the next day. I asked about a hotel since we live in Virginia and were flying out of North Carolina. She said that the airline would not get us a hotel room but if we paid for one the airline would reimburse us. So I booked the hotel room.
Before I went to bed I checked the flight status. Our rebooked flight was canceled and we were rebooked again for a 5 am flight. If I hadn't checked we would have missed the flight.
The next morning I asked the agent at the counter about food vouchers. She gave us some for breakfast ($15 each). When we landed in Philly I had two more food vouchers emailed to me by American Airlines. I thought great we can use these for lunch. Not the case. They didn't work. I spoke to an American Airlines agent and she said you can only use one voucher every 24 hours. I asked about the hotel reimbursement that the previous agent told me about. She confirmed that yes the airline would reimburse me for that. We finally got to our destination around 4pm.
This trip should have taken 6 hours door to door but turned into an almost 24 hour ordeal.
I have submitted 3 reimbursement request through the customer relations link on their website and have only received 'thank you for your feed back' emails. I have all the receipts and still the issue has not been solved.
The issue with getting a reimbursement has been just as horrible as the travel experience.

This is the worst airline company out there. I have never been treated so unfairly after a canceled flight. Avoid at all costs.

WOW! This is a very great airline!! The food was decent, and the flight attendents were SUPER nice. The plane didn't get delayed, and the landing was good, the only bad thing is the bathroom was... dirty.
