“Shivering and Cramped All The Way”

The temperature inside the plane was so cold that almost all the passengers had to put on their jackets and coats and cover themselves with blankets. We took the next flight on Virgin Atlantic from San Francisco and the cabin temperature was nice and comfy.

Secondly, the configuration of seats was so tight even for economy these days that it made for an uncomfortable experience. Again, the seats on the next flight to London on Virgin Atlantic were tight as economy is these days but more generous than Air New Zealand which made for a less difficult experience on a long haul flight.

We had a great flight with Air New Zealand up to Singapore where we stayed a few days. Our only complaint would be the lounge at Auckland Airport , before we left as it was way to over crowded and we struggled to find a seat.
We then flew a night flight to London in Business class on Singapore Airlines. Their lounge only has Business class customers hence we were able to get a seat. However the seats on the plane were hard and uncomfortable with having to put your feet into this little box thingy and service not up to the Air New Zealand standards in Business class. Coming back we flew Virgin Atlantic which had the most amazing lounge pre flight ever !! We flew London to Shanghai on a day night flight , good service but cramped in like sardines and once again a hard seats to try and sleep in. Shanghai airport was nothing to write home about and a hassle in transit with the health declaration. Then once again back to N.Z flying Air N.Z for our leg home and the lie down seats were so soft and comfortable , the best night time seats come beds ever ! Great service once again and we certainly can not fault Air N.Z Business class, please don't ever drop your standards !

Just left flat by the flight, the service and the delays, we had delays that ended up being 90 minutes late, waiting for the crew! All the passengers were there but no crew. On boarding we were told to hurry along because we'd been delayed, whose fault was that??? certainly not the passengers yet we were treated as a nuisance and were chivvied along like recalcitrant children. On the flight they forgot our meal, ran out of options and finally fed us after having to ask twice for our meal, same applied to a drink, coffee is apparently grown on the wing. The cabin crew were impatient, put upon and irritated because they had work to do. Unbelievable treatment and a horrible feeling. It felt like we hadn't paid enough or weren't good enough, very unpleasant. Air NZ do not offer a good experience, they simply don't.

The airfare has gone up but the service/entertainment/food/beverage has gone down. Food was disgusting, basically boiled chicken with smashed potatoes & beans, no taste whatsoever. The drinks was served only once while I remember back pre covid days the drinks cart always came back 2nd time around. I had to buzz & ask for a coke. Temperature in the plane was extremely warm, can’t we change the airflow anymore on Air NZ planes like previously? The selection of movies was also pretty slim. This was a 12hour direct flight with nothing much to watch. Had better selection going on a 3 hour flight to Sydney. I have always flown on Air NZ even when there are cheaper flights but will most definitely look at other airlines in future. Air NZ has gone down so much it’s not worth it anymore

Air new zealand sold my seat when travelling with my 10 month old baby linked to my passport, then promised to fix it just to call me a liar, as a kiwi I will do my best to never fly with them again they are a joke.
Just rubbish.
Fly Emirates much better with customer service and they don't sell seats from under you.
