Great airline to fly with. Have flown a few times especially to US, and has been a good selection each time.

if you get the chance the Air NZ Lounge in Auckland is one of the best. Put many a hotel to shame for breakfast. Great choice of food and drinks.

Flew SFO to Syd via Auk business class. Seats lie FLAT and are reasonably comfortable for the type. Good Audio visual programs and decent headphones. Amenities pack a little light on I guess but apart from earplugs I don't use them. Great selection of wines including Billicart Salmon champagne and good a-la-cart menu. Would fly again.

The day started so well. Very light traffic from Whangaparaoa to airport. 65 minutes.
Shuttle ready for us at carpark. No queues at E-Check in. No late passengers to plane.
Off we went on time with flight time shorter than expected. Perfect.
It didn't las!
Fault in two of the four aircon motors 1.5 hrs into the flight forced a return to Auckland and an eventual cancellation of the flight.
Air New Zealand flight crew and ground staff were fantastic under pressure.
We were continually updated on the situation and on landing handed dinner vouches while plane was inspected.
On notification of flight cancellation, we were issued with taxi chits, motel accommodation and dinner vouchers.
Accommodation was especially difficult to arrange due to NZ v SA rugby test being played.
Later that evening we were messaged that our flight would be departing at 9.30am the following morning and that taxis would be waiting at the hotel at 6.30am.
The flight departed on time with no further issues.
My son and I were travelling with the no meal, alcohol and movie option. Due to the inconvenience suffered, we enjoyed the opportunity to watch movies and enjoy a couple of quiet beers.
Thanks Air New Zealand for making a difficult situation bearable.

Great food, short flight time, excellent attentive service-nothing's too much trouble.

After choosing to fly Air NZ Business class as a treat many times over the past 6 mths, from Ak to Tokyo return, Ak to Ho Chi Minh Vietnam return and Ak to London via LA and Singapore return I can say that it's been a great choice. While the space is quite contained (Singapore airlines are larger) there is absolutely no comparison regarding the overall amenity and personal attention you receive.

Pick and choose what you'd like to eat, add on some extras in the middle of the nite, the flight attendants are always around to help you. They were non existent on my Singapore business class flight- you couldn't find them!

My last trip Singapore Ak -flight attendant Dianne was so kind and helpful particularly. It's that pleasant positive can do attitude to everyone equally in the cabin! Nothing's a hassle- even very difficult customers - there were 2 on that flight in business class!

Air NZ you should be proud of your people.

1. The flight was very late leaving.

2. There were no movies, as the system was down.

3. Flight information - time of arrival etc - not available, for the same reason.

4. The PA system also had a problem (crackling) and where we were seated I could not make out anything that was said. {For the record in case you think I have a hearing problem the opposite was the case on our return flight! If one had the earphones on, the announcements were deafening.}

5. We had paid extra for breakfast. One trolley serving breakfast from the front - us seated in row 23 - no hot breakfasts left, only muesli.

6. Asked for landing cards and was informed by stewardess that they had run out of them. Then with a big smile on her face she informed he "it happened all the time and we keep telling them about it."
