Air France has recently provided me with the worst customer service I’ve experienced in years. Rude and unprofessional staff are probably on top of the list of complaints I have towards them followed by the fact that you get seated separately, even if you buy two tickets in a single transaction! Upon checking in at the airport, my friend and I realised that our seats are several rows apart with staff saying there’s nothing they can do. Dear Air France, if you want to act line Ryanair, perhaps you should charge Ryanair prices...
Moreover, my friend had his cabin luggage seized upon entering the plane even though it complied with size requirements. Apparently they let too many people in with oversized luggage so passengers at the back of the queue had theirs seized!
When we challenged the staff about this, we were told that they will refuse us entry into the plane unless we comply. Great service after spending thousands of pounds on connecting return flight across two continents. Threats and intimidation is definitely what you want to be subjected to whilst holidaying...
The food - wow, my shoe soles look more appetising than what I was served on 11 hours flight with AF; and - no alcohol apparently! Yep, bad food and no wine on French airline. During the long flight, you will need to get your own soft drinks from the back of the plane where a trolley with drinks if left for a self-service whilst the staff gathers in cluster of four and gossips for hours on end paying no attention to passengers.
Combine all this with extremely small screens and poor choice of in-flight entertainment and you have one of the worst airlines currently operating.
Upon writing the complaint, you will get automated email stating that “due to an unusually high volume of incoming requests at the moment, we will not be able to reply within our usual timeframe.”
Unbelievable, they actually admit in their automated response emails that they receive lots of complaints!
Fellow travellers, spare yourselves some stress and disappointment and avid Air France.
