Review of Aer Lingus

Reviewed 4 weeks ago

2 Complaints:
1. My medical device, a $ 1100.00 CPAP, was accidentally left onboard. My son was arranging his luggage in the bulkhead area, and missed picking it up. As soon as we noticed it missing, I called Aer Lingus that same day. After very long wait on the phone I was told I would need to check DIA lost and found. I called them, again very long wait on phone. They told me if it was lost on the flight, I would need to contact AL. Their website also states this as their policy. Called AL again, verrry long wait. Told same thing check Denver lost and found. Got the run around several times before giving up and filing a report for lost item.
Don't understand how this item could not be found. We knew exactly where it was. It also contained 10 of my prescriptions with my full name, the name and phone number of my Dr. and name and phone number of my pharmacy. AL was absolutely no help at all. I could not sleep on the flight and then could not sleep with out my cpap the night I got home. If I sleep lying down (at home) without cpap, I risk heart attack or stroke, so finding my machine was a very high priority.
2. The seats were so incredibly close and uncomfortable. When I dropped something, I was unable to bend over to retrieve it. When the meal came, I felt like a T-rex eating as I could not move my elbows from the sides of my body and could only maneuver my forearms, wrists and hands. I have flown many other airlines, and never had such a feeling of being unable to move.
Loved Ireland, loved the people, but very disappointed with Aer Lingus. Will not fly with them again.

This airline cons you by describing their planes as regional, short haul and long haul. Regional doesn't mean in country as you'd interpret, but actual means short haul. If your take on bag is 1mm bigger than the very small size they allow on regional then they charge you 35 pounds. Its a money making scam as the flight was half empty. Short haul allowance is the standard small take on case. But regional is a brief case size.

I LOVED my trip to Ireland! I highly recommend going! DO NOT fly Aer Lingus when you go. Our flight was canceled and we have not received reimbursement. It has been nearly five months of communication and MANY broken promises on their end and still no reimbursement. When I finally asked for the reason for the cancellation so my travel insurance could reimburse me, they told me I would have to file a new claim and start over. 👎🏻. What a mess!

Great airline until they lose your bag. The contract ground handler company in Amsterdam cannot be reached by phone. i tried for 4 day straight. My bags were sent bag home to Seattle in the middle of our trip with out a consultation of any kind. Now it is November and still trying to get compensation. Once again you can not reach them from the states. Absolutely a horrid airline unless things go perfect.

I had a very disappointing experience with Aer Lingus recently, particularly regarding their customer service. After encountering issues with a deposit i had made, I reached out for help, but the representatives I spoke with were not only unhelpful but also seemed uninformed about their own policies. I received conflicting information, which was incredibly frustrating. Its been over 2 weeks and i am yet to hear about the refund i am entitled to.
