We booked a 4-night Bahamas cruise aboard Liberty of the Seas to celebrate my birthday. Watching the weather forecast ahead of the cruise, I was extremely nervous. They were calling for 20-30 MPH winds and thunderstorms when we were in the Bahamas. Fortunately, before we even left the port, the captain announced that our itinerary needed to be changed because of the approaching cold front. He informed us that we would be going to Labadee, Haiti instead. Although I was disappointed to not be going to the Bahamas, I was happy that the cruise line was committed to giving us the best vacation possible.

We ended up having decent weather throughout the cruise. The seas were relatively calm and we had sunshine most of the time. Our day in Labadee was perfect - sunny and calm. We ended up booking an excursion through the ship (a first for us) that we really enjoyed. It was the Snorkel Safari. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone who enjoys snorkeling. The water wasn't exceptionally clear, but there was still a lot to see. Fair warning - there is a lot of swimming involved, but they do provide vests that can be inflated for flotation.

Overall, our time aboard the Liberty of the Seas was enjoyable. This was the shortest cruise we've ever done. The ship has a lot of activities for cruisers of all ages. We actually tried out the water slides and had fun on them. We really enjoyed the daily trivia contests and entertainment as well. Because there is so much to do, there were a lot of families with small children on board. Our last cruise was aboard the Celebrity Equinox, which caters to an older demographic. I would say that was a much more "chill" cruise, but we still had fun.

We ended up eating all of our meals at the Windjammer Cafe (buffet) because I had requested My Time Dining, not realizing that the only reservations available would be for 8:15 and later; plus, my husband didn't want to have to dress up for dinner, which was OK with me. The food was decent. They had a lot of the same choices each day, with the exception of whatever the nightly "theme" was (Caribbean, Italian, etc.) I really never had a bad meal.

I believe that we'd still try to visit Coco Cay in the future, but we were very happy with the way our cruise turned out.

This was our first cruise which was a gift from our son for our 50th anniversary. It will be difficult for a possible next cruise to surpass April 8 to 12 Liberty of the Seas operated by Royal Caribbean. Rather than list all the names of the outstanding personnel we met that assisted. I am writing a letter to RC and coping each person via company’s address

First off, on embarkation, our luggage was left out in the pouring rain for a long time. Even though we dropped them off in the COVERED luggage drop-off area, someone must have moved them out to an uncovered area. Hours later, we found our luggage way down the hallway from our room. We soon realized our suitcases and all the clothes, shoes, and purses inside were all dripping wet. We had to wring out all our clothes in the tub and hang them up all over the bathroom. Also, our locks on our suitcases were all dented and scratched up, as if someone tried to pry the locks open. So, our locks were ruined, too. Then the next day, we were called by the front desk several times to come down and see them over a security issue. We went down and we were interrogated in front of other passengers, while being told that we were being recorded by them on their body camera. We were questioned about a “wallet” that we had found the night before. We never found a wallet. My husband finally told the security people that if there is a video of someone finding a wallet, they need to look at it closely, because it wasn’t us who found it. We asked why they thought we had found a wallet, and they wouldn’t answer us. They just apologized and said it was a misunderstanding. We left them just shaking our heads, wondering what just happened. We walked over to the bar across from the front desk and the same security guys followed us over, and watched us until we left. Why apologize to us, but then follow and surveil us for 30+ minutes? BTW, we are age 55 and 61, and have never so much as taken a pack of gum. And if we find a wallet or anything that's not ours, we turn it in. Another disappointment was the only reason we had booked this cruise is because we’ve never been to Nassau and wanted to experience it. But, we were told about a couple hours into the cruise that the Nassau stop was cancelled due to weather. I know that’s not RC’s fault, but it was still a disappointment since that was the reason we booked this cruise. Oh well... The only highlight of the cruise was our day at Coco Cay. We paid for the Coco Beach Club and that was really nice. Food was good and the beach was beautiful. The food on the ship was ok, nothing great. The elevators are terrible; many people just walked up many flights of stairs rather than waiting 20 minutes or more for the elevators. The ship needs a major overhaul. Looking back on the trip, we were made to feel like criminals and we were shown that Royal Caribbean does not care about our personal belongings (by leaving our bags and luggage out in the pouring rain to become drenched). So, we've made a decision to stop cruising with Royal. We are no longer Loyal to Royal. We have a cruise booked for Feb of 2025, but we are going to cancel that. Plus, they have not bothered to reach out to us regarding our negative experience; even though I've asked them to. Goodbye, Royal Caribbean!

It was a great experience! We went to many great places and had a fun time. The ship itself was also very nice and had lots of food options. There was lots of entertainment too and the rooms are nice.

My wife and I just took our first cruise ever the other day to the Bahamas from Fort Lauderdale on Liberty of the Seas. Could not have had a better experience. The service with Royal Caribbean is absolutely top notch, friendly staff everywhere you go, especially in the dining room. The easiest check in process I have ever seen every anyplace I have traveled, literally took us 15 minutes from the time we got out of our Uber ride to the time we were getting on the boat (Record time). The food in the main dining room was fantastic, the buffet food at the Windjammer was relatively good, and the spacious balcony room was perfect for what we needed. Enjoyed every minute and will 100% be doing this again. Thank you, Royal Caribbean, for providing us an experience we will never forget.
