My wife and I flew from Bristol to Budapest, via Brussels, to catch a Danube river cruise, just over a week ago.
The first leg of our outward journey was very enjoyable, mainly down to the friendliness and efficiency of our cabin Manager, a Scotsman called Matthew.
He greeted us warmly as we boarded, was very chatty and attentive during our flight, and generally made our flight a pleasure to be on.
Much to our surprise, and delight, one week later when we climbed the stairs to board our plane in Munich, who should be standing waiting to greet us again, but Matthew, the cabin Manager!
He not only remembered our names, but even asked how our cruise had gone!
Once again he was extremely friendly, and looked after us well, throughout or 2 hour flight.
With staff like Matthew, BMI cant go wrong!

Flight was delayed by around 40 minutes on the outbound and was on time on the return. There isn't a terrible amount to say about the service except that the planes are old and small but are comfortable with all leather seats and the seat pitch is generous and therefore comfortable. A two hour flight gets you a beer and a soft drink with either a KIt-Kat or a bag of pretzels which is perfectly acceptable and the staff appeared to be professional and courteous. I did note that the single toilet did not flush on the return flight and there were no hand towels available and very little toilet roll. Overall, a vanilla service for a vanilla price, no real complaints.

If I could give them negative stars I would. Admittedly it was our fault, but my husband left his iPad in the seat pocket of this very small aircraft and we were the last passengers off. We had not left it for more than 20 minutes before we alerted them to our loss and when they went back to check the seat pocket where we were sitting, it had gone and despite our best efforts to locate it, it was never handed in. Either the cleaners or cabin crew had taken it. Not as uncommon as you would think I have since found out. A lesson learnt. A shame really as the rest of the flight/service was good. Oh apart from the delay causing us to miss our connection.

Very tricky experience. First your flight gets delayed or cancelled. Then you issue a complaint. After months of emails and letters, your claim gets finally accepted. They ask you for your payment details and then they disappear. You won't get paid and they will ignore any further communication. Can't believe Lufthansa is still cooperating with them!

The plane I was due to fly on drove off the runway. As a result the aircraft was not suitable to fly so our flight was cancelled. Also as a result the whole airport was closed whilst the runway was cleared. Flybmi refused compensation because the airport was closed. It was, but because their pilot left the runway!
