Accommodation help

Hello all,

We will be travelling around both islands and have just learned of the Beach Hop.

Struggling to find accommodation - have been advised it is booked a year in advance. Anyhow if anyone knows of any availability from 24th March to 27th March 2017 that would be great thanks.

Try the airbnb site or maybe couchsurfing.org.

Hi Meg,

Do you particularly want to stay in Whangamata? Tairua would be another option, or Waihi a little further away to the south.

It's a really popular event. There might be accommodation at Pauanui?

Waihi Beach is lovely and there are a couple of motels/holiday parks there. Or if that is booked out try Waihi village. It's about half an hour from Whangamata.

Waihi is a decent sized town with good facilities. Having stayed at Waihi Beach this location is further to travel, which took us a good half hour from Bowentown holiday park into Waihi alone. Tairua and Pauanui are much closer and both have a great summertime vibe.
