Broadstairs by car on a sunny saturday

We are thinking of visiting Broadstairs next Sat for the day as at the moment the weather looks nice. We have a four month old baby so will need to bring quite a lot with us for a day on the beach. What is parking like? How much does it cost? Thank you.

The local parking guide is at www.thanet.gov.uk/your-services/parking

I usually try to grab a free unrestricted onroad parking space on the Western Esplanade which is a short walk from the main beach.

It can get very congested if you try to drive along Albion St and Harbour St to get to the popular little car park on the pier.

Failing BayBOy's suggestion, there is a car park at the top of the High Street in Vere Road and another about half way down the High Street Crofts Place, both are pay and display. The Vere Road car park is small but there is a nice walk through some parkland to the beach, it is signposted. There is also a car park again pay and display on the left hand side of the road at the top of Harbour Street. Otherwise as a last resort there is car parking at the station.
