Barberino is one of 50 or more tiny, charming villages in Chianti hardly distinguishable from one another but nevertheless perfectly enjoyable. http://www.barberinovaldelsa.info/ All of Chianti and most of Tuscany are within a maximum of two and a half hours drive from where you will be. Spend a bit of time clicking on the map barberinovaldelsa.info/barberino_val_delsa_m… - you will find endless interest.
I stayed near by in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa which was beautiful. Scenery was just unforgettable. We went to Barberino to a chapel there of San Bartolomeo where we renewed our wedding vows. The Priest spoke English and was so prepared with a speech for us that was amazing. Next door to the church was a wonderful little restaurant called (translated) Little Bells I believe with outdoor seating and the owners were also wonderful. The food was exquisite. We celebrated our Anniversary there. We were blown away by the kindness, friendliness, and love of the people there. Well worth every penny we spent. Have a great time.
