Ocean water quality?

This is our third trip to Fiji and love the Coral Coast area...as some of our group love to snorkel and swim in the ocean...could anyone tell us if the ocean water quality at this resort is ok?

The Coral Coast has a lot of 4 Star resorts. The water quality is fine but if you are searching for accommodation, check that the beach water has a sandy bottom as many Coral Coast resorts have inshore dead coral and rocks over which you can only swim at high tide.

The idyllic Fijian beaches can generally be found at the off-shore islands to the north of Viti Levu (the main island)

The two main island groups that are spoken about the most are the Mananuca Group which is immediately off Nadi and the Yasawa Group which is north of the Mamanuca's both are considered west.

Beaches can in some locations be tidal but the snorkelling is good with plenty to see.

Having stayed on the Coral Coast previously I can recommend the islands. The islands are far better than the Coral Coast which can, in some spots, be very tired.

For an even better experience have a look at Tavenui. Requires a little more intrepidness on your part but worth it.

Sonaisali is located at the mouth of a river so water is murky where fresh meets ocean. OK to swim & for water sports but no snorkelling.

Yep water is darker and brownish and is just out from the river and also has the dark volcanic sand. They do bring white sand in to put on the upper beach areas and near the pool. Water can be swum in and water sports can be played but you will not get any snorkelling as visability is poor. This is not a resort you go to for the beach or snorkelling. They do have a lovely pool area and swim up bar.
