So we're planning on spending 6 nights and 5 full days on Lofoten in early October and I've procrastinated way too long and now need to book flights to the islands and places to stay.
We're flying from Bergen on 10/4 and then returning to Oslo or Copenhagen on 10/10. Originally I was thinking we'd fly from Bergen to Leknes, then do a one-way car rental to Evenes even though it'll add $200 or so to the car rental, because I figured it'd be a better use of time, but after reading the forums it seems like a lot of people suggest flying into and out of Evenes and renting and returning the car there. The flights to Leknes from Bergen are also about $125 more expensive than flights to EVE. So I think it'd basically cost us $450 more to do the one-way. We're OK with that if it's a much better use of our limited time on the islands, but if EVE isn't a bad airport to do a round trip tour of the islands from then it never hurts to save the money. Just wondering what people would suggest if saving money isn't the #1 factor and maximizing our enjoyment of the islands is.
Thanks for any suggestions (and for all the great help all of you TA folks have provided to help bring this trip to fruition so far)!
