Mule rides in Yosemite

Does anyone know if a mule ride in Yosemite during March is feasible? It will be my family with kids ages 11 and 13 and I have no idea if the weather is warm enough at that time of year. Also, do we really need to make advance reservations? Again, I don't know what the crowds are like in March. Thanks!

Perhaps someone else can verify this, but I think the stables are only open in the summer.

Wawona and Yosemite Valley Stables say they are open from spring to fall but don't provide dates. I'd conatact them directly.

Yosemite Valley Stable (209)372-8348

Wawona Stable (209)375-6502

Tuolumne Stables would only open during the summer.

You also might consider one of the many private stables outside yosemite where you actually ride a HORSE. The Yosemite stables don't have much written up about them. They aren't even listed as an attraction on this website, I think that says a lot.

Pinemountain Lake at http://www.pinemountainlake.com

Yosemite Rose at

and Cowgirls and Indians at

All are located just east of Groveland. Rides take place in the Stanislaus National Park.
