Having had a wonderful holiday based in Siracusa last year, we're thinking of basing ourselves in Castellammare del Golfo to explore different parts of Sicily.
We'll be travelling with our son, daughter-in-law and 13 year-old granddaughter. We like to be in a place where we can walk round and explore a bit; that has a choice of decent places to eat; and a bar where son and D-I-L can go for a quiet drink after dinner while Grandma, Grandad and Granddaughter stay home!
Will things be open? Or is 3 April too early in the season? Is Castellammare purely a resort town - or does it have a life of its own?
All thoughts and information will be very welcome!
