Day Tour

Hi guys,

Can I ask which is more practical to book the day tour for Nusa Penida online through agency or when we arrived in Bali then we inquire around? I've read the feedback that some will overcharge online and some have reasonable prices when looking for the tour upon arrival in Bali with the same activities of the tour.

Penida tours through companies are generally a ripoff/scam/con. It is not necessarily the company itself but the Tour/Driver companies they work with on Penida who play the "per person" scam.

Newbro, like many companies, "play" the "minimum 2 Pax" scam. IDR950k per person minimum 2 Pax.

As even the full price return Penida fastboat with all mainland transfers is IDR500k you are in effect paying "minimum" IDR900k for a tour/driver for the day.

The ripoff scam gets worse as the number goes up. 3 Pax @ IDR900k per means you are paying IDR1200k for the tour/driver.

Maruti, who run fastboats, have similar tour prices at IDR1m per person minimum 2 Pax.

I've known people booking locally to get the popular "West Penida" tour for IDR1.2m for 2 people including fastboat transfers and private drivers.

Other option is to book Penida returns to Toyapakeh then haggle with drivers at Toyapakeh harbour.

Some have managed to get Penida drivers down to the standard Bali rate of IDR600k for the whole van privately to yourself but it is a risk.

Definitely wait until you get to Bali, drivers / guides are in abundance and or go to a tourist kiosk which are also everywhere in Bali.

You might not feel like that tour on that day should you book in advance, now. Best to be flexible, anything can be arranged in a moments notice, that’s Bali.
