I will be in Pittsburgh for the first time next weekend (Oct 6/7). Any fun events going on? Street fairs, food events, special exhibits, etc.? Thanks!
You may want to look up the City Paper, online or available in boxes on the street once you are here. A lot depends upon your interests, too.
Thanks! I wasn’t sure what a good source would be.
There is a great event going on this weekend, especially if you are interested in architecture. Its called Open Doors Pittsburgh and is occurring all over downtown and the North Side. You can get inside many of the interesting and historic buildings and there are docents giving mini-tours.
Tickets must be bought in advance (online) and you can use a e-ticket. Its $10 per day or $15 for Sat/Sun. Note the hours are 10 AM-1 PM for some buildings. We did this last year and highly recommend.
I was just going to recommend Doors Open as well! It's really cool!
If you like haunted houses and amusement parks, you could go to Kennywood https://www.kennywood.com/pfn Car rental or Uber/ Lyft are easy ways to get there.
