Any, I don't know. In general absolutely.

Always check the game info on the individual machine. On progressive slots, yeah (not sure if always). But there are machines out there where you are eligible for jackpots with smaller bets. Won't be the megamillions then, though.

The rules and payouts are clearly marked on the machine. There's 100's of slots. No way of telling you the rules of each machine.

Never understood the point of playing at anything less than max bet. If you hit, you're gonna make the big bucks by playing max bet. Anything else, surely you'll be kicking yourself that you weren't spinning max bet?

Here's an example Russ: One of my favorite machines is a max bet of $5, but you can wager either $1, $2, $2.50 or $5. I don't have the bankroll to wager $5 per spin on most occasions. However, I can afford the $2 or $2.50 spins.

Say I put a $20 in and hit a bonus of about $100 or so on the 10th spin. That's outstanding. But, if I was betting $5 per spin, obviously I'd have less spins to work with (4 as opposed to 10) and if the reels stopped in the exact same spots as they did when I was betting $2, I would have no more spins left and had lost all my money.

So, I either bet $2 and win $100 or bet $5 and win none. Obviously, it could go the other way, but you know what I'm getting at I believe.

I understand your philosophy, but sometimes it's still fun and exciting to play lower. And, yes, it's happened several times where I've kicked myself for not betting higher, then I remember I couldn't really afford to bet higher anyway...

Why not go to lower minimum slots, like $.25 and then put in the max coin--$.75 to $1.25 depending on the machine.

Understand ttumaddawg. Perhaps my FOMO is too strong.

I cannot play a table game such as BlackJack and leave the side beds uncovered, "just in case". If I don't have the roll to play those side bets, I'll find a table that doesn't have them, so I don't miss out on anything.

I guess I'm the kind of guy the casinos love!

Because I'd rather win $100 or nothing than $10...that doesn't make much sense after typing it as it did in my head when I was thinking it, but it's true.

Don't get me wrong FLW, I will also play max bet on those machines for $1 or $2, as I like to mix it up. I was just giving Russ insight as to the mindset of not playing max all the time.

I played several dollar max bet machines last week that could have won me a progressive of anywhere between 20k-70k.

Re side bets, i play Let it Ride quite a bit and leave the main 3 card side bet, though i still play the dollar jackpot. Only time i have regretted it was last October when i couldnt stop winning and was getting my 3 card bet up constantly. Walked away $700 ish up from my play but it could have been double that if i was on the 3 card bet the amount of times i was hitting straight flushes then missing the main bets. Still wont play it this time but im looking forward to playing Max Bet on slots..........as a non slots player. :-)

Dpends on the machine and denomination.

On a penny machine, probably not.

On a $5 machine, absolutely.
