Things To Do In Pray And Surrounding

We will be traveling late August into the first of September and will be staying in Pray. While most of our trip will be focused in and around Yellowstone, we would like to take a day or two and just hang around outside of the park in and around the Paradise Valley area where we will be staying. Do you have any recommendations for hikes and/or sightseeing?

Thanks

Also Chico Hot Springs and Yellowstone Hot Springs.

Livingston has many good restaurants. You can't go wrong getting a sandwich from The Pickle Barrel.

A drive over the hill to spend the day in Bozeman and visit the Musuem of the Rockies would also be time well-spent.

Long drive from Pray down to the North entrance. There will be road construction on the bridge in Gardiner that I think will still be going on then (it is now set to start on June 22 according the the flashing signs last week, lol). Be cautious about driving back to Pray in the dark. That canyon north of Gardiner (Yankee Jim Canyon) is chock full of wildlife so you'll want to still have some daylight on your side.

Here is a link to drive times within Yellowstone.

Take a ride down to Livingston. Great Western town. Think A River Runs Through It.,.have dinner at 2nd St. Bistro and after craziness at The Murray Bar.

Sounds great, had not really thought about driving after dark, thank you for reminding me of this. Livingston looks great and it looks like there are several good restaurants so we'll definitely check it out. Thanks for your input!
