Cheap entertainment for twelve 5th/6th graders?

My husband and I teach a 5th and 6th grade Sunday School class and are always on the lookout for reasonable yet fun things for the kids to do for afternoon/day outings. We live an hour from Evansville and not as familiar with the city and surrounding area as the residents would be. The school trips have included Angel Mounds, the Science Center/Museum, CMOE, Planetarium, and the zoo. We would love to find a really nice park for a picnic lunch. Other than that, are they places that could entertain the kids for around $5-10.00 each? Thank you for any information!

Newburgh Lock and Dam is another option.

Burdette park has some areas to play as well. CMOE, Evansville Museum, and the Zoo seem to be the main places to take kids.

Thank you for the ideas! I'd forgotten about Newburgh and how close it is to Evansville.

You also might look into New Harmony, Indiana and/or Harmonie State Park.

Thank you for the idea! Our class may just have to take a vote, there's too many nice choices!
