Rim Rock Adventures in Fruita is the only one with horses and I'm not sure if late November is too late. Here's their website - https://rradventures.com/horseback-riding/

The Museum of the West - https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g33450-d145851-Reviews-Museum_of_the_West-Grand_Junction_Colorado.html

The Eureka Science Museum - https://eurekasciencemuseum.org/ and https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g33450-d622950-Reviews-John_McConnell_Math_and_Science_Center-Grand_Junction_Colorado.html

Fruita is world famous for its bike trails. You can rent bikes all over town both in Grand Junction and Fruita. Dress warm, it will probably be cold.

Hope you enjoy your time here.

McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area is a vast area and wouldn't be on most visitor radar for this time of year. You'll want to consider the experience & stamina of yourself & granddaughter, and familiarize yourself with the places feasible to visit with a 10 year old, especially at the beginning of winter. Check weather forecasts and be prepared for anything from sunny skies to freezing rain to wind and snow. https://www.blm.gov/programs/national-conservation-lands/colorado/mcinnis-canyons

I would think that maybe the Trail Through Time would be doable, and there could be other hikes, as well, depending on the weather. https://www.visitgrandjunction.com/hiking/rabbit-valley-trail-system

You didn't mention Colorado National Monument. Most of us western Coloradoans think it should be a national park. It would be a must do while in the Grand Junction/Fruita area. (hiking and scenic drive...watch for deer and bighorn sheep)

If you are wanting to visit national parks, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park south rim near Montrose might be doable either as a day trip or overnight from Grand Junction. The rim drive will likely be closed to vehicles past the visitor center but you can still get a good sample of views before the closure point, and you might hike or snowshoe the road, depending on snow cover. The Ute Indian Museum in Montrose could be interesting for you and your granddaughter.

Agree. With a 10 year old, I would hike trail through time in rabbit Valley and in Colorado national monument the devils kitchen if the weather is cooperating. My kids loved those hikes at that age.
