Fale for babymoon

My husband and I are thinking of going to Samoa before baby number two arrives. We aren't usually resort people but it seems the only other option is a fale style accommodation. I love the idea of a fale but am not wanting any backpacker vibe, and being 6 months pregnant at the time am concerned about not having a toilet! lol

I've read through a lot of the other fale posts but they seem to be quite dated now. Can anyone recommend a fale stay that would be more secluded, maybe even a little romantic? We aren't fussy - I'd be happy with a shack on the beach as long as it wasn't bug-infested (have heard the older mats can attract critters), and by some small miracle a private bathroom?

Or if that doesn't exist, any other accomodation that isn't fancy or resort-style - we love a little boutique accom rather than commercial.

Thanks wizards!

Hi

I think you'll find what you're looking for on Savai'i and most of what you have read may seem a little dated but because Samoa borders have been closed for over 2 years and only reopen on 1st August, I would say you could consider it as current.

My recommendation would be Vaimoana Seaside Lodge where you can get fales with ensuite. If you wanted a little more upscale have a look at Amoa Resort or Savaii Lagoon Resort, both are more boutique style resorts.

Samoa Tourism Authority has updated their website so have a look there too and you might see somewhere else you like.

Congrats on the baby and I hope you have a wonderful time
