On a recent visit to Yap we stayed at a terrific hotel that had it's own restaurants. The Veranda View restaurant at Traders serves the best food on the Island bar none! Fresh locally caught fish served a thousand and one ways, plus international favorites including mexican and italian food. Simply put, you got to try it!
I agree that the food at Trader's Ridge was delicious. But, for good food at a great price, I'd highly recommend the Oasis Restaurant across the street from O'Keefe's Waterfront Inn. The lunch special was unbelievable - $5 for a full meal of meat or fish, rice, vegetables, local food and unlimited iced tea. The food was fresh, delicious and presented nicely. The restaurant is usually packed at lunch time with locals, tourists and Peace Corps volunteers. Dinners are around $10 - basically half to a third the price of Trader's Ridge. You should try both restaurants for great meals.
