The ferry from Puntarenas to Paquera stops running 4 days ago since they are fixing the landing platform. As per this morning they didn't start the work but the ferries are not running.
Transportation options:
Puntarenas ferry to PLAYA NARANJO:
(expect very long car lines as they taking most of the cars and people that usually travel in the ferry to Paquera).
Once in Playa Naranjo drive towards Paquera, this drive is around 1hr. Once in Paquera you can continue your journey as normal.
NEED 4x4 as the gravel road is getting pretty bad due the large amount of vehicles passing right now.
You can also:
- Drive around the Peninsula via Tempisque river. From San Jose to this part of the country you will take around 7hrs.
- Flight into Tambor airstrip.
- Take the Taxi Boat from Jaco to Montezuma. (only passengers)
