Hi

If as a British citizen I am to transit through the Ascension Islands to the Falklands, do I need some sort of E. visa even if I am just connecting

Thanks

As far as I know, and I would check with your ticket supplier, if you are on the same flight the whole way (ie, no break of journey) then you don't need anything except a passport.

Ascension, like the Falklands, is a British Overseas Territory. You will probably disembark for refuelling and spend an hour in a compound on the apron, attached to the terminal.

I have spent a few days there, but I don't think that is allowed anymore. Even when it was allowed the rules were strict and I knew friends who were refused entry (for a short break) because of a lack of documentation. But, as said, I don't think any special documents are required for through passengers. But, do check with the FIGO people or whoever you bought the tickets from.

The runway was closed for 4 years, so I haven't been there for a while.

Thank you

I have received a reply from the FI travel and they confirm I don’t need one. That’s lucky as my flight is this today! Last minute panic over
